Bike school ride 6/8:
Forgot my boots today; rode in normal shoes, no special difference in feel or heat/cold. (Tucked laces for fear of catastrophe.)
Today's lesson was riding cones on parking lot. Listened to the lot's wisdom once, figure 8, pulled the throttle as I fell, some scratches, thankfully most caught by the replaceable fuckup-bar on the side. Spooked myself good, instructor got choleric but I took it all better than I expected, and was back on the bike within 2 minutes.
After the fuckup, I again understood a little more about the throttle, clutch, and gear 1. Two more rides to go, one tomorrow before work, the other on Saturday before work. I really wish we had had this extensive slow-riding training BEFORE going into traffic.
Interestingly, slowly turning left gives me no trouble, while right my body just goes fully cramped and defensive, it’s because of the throttle on the right, isn’t it? Two more rides to go, then exam on 30th.

When I wrecked my gsxr750 in 2004, I literally yelled "CUNT" once before promptly noticing that the artery in my arm was shooting blood everywhere and using my own belt to tourniquet it, saving my own skin in the process.
I had hit a fresh diesel spill at 55mph on a straight road. Bike dug in and flipped, my arm whipped itself round a tree splitting the artery and my skin open.
I Simply sat there for half an hour at which point I gave up waiting for a car to show up and started walking back along the road until I found a pub in a village I had ridden through 10 mins earlier. Ambulance took 25 mins from the landlord calling it. They were amazed after the police found the bike and the doctors saw my arm that I hadn't bled out in the road.
Still can knock out a cracking wank that arm.
