I changed my oil over a manhole grate once. The perfect dip made for the easiest break at work.
I also mixed coolant at the deli sinks.
The only thing I would ever consider draining onto the ground is my diff because I keep It filled with damp fine sawdust and have to change it weekly... but there's no chemicals in it at all so it's fine.
