Who here diesels?
I am in the market for a diesel crew cab 4x4 to replace the rusty junk in pic related. Was looking at duramaxs or bullet proofed 6.0 power strokes. But gotdamn people want stupid money for rusty piles here in the Midwest.

I hear you OP. Buying diesel used is tricky, half the time the seller is unloading a pile of shit they know is about to break down.

Well I lived in Texas at the time and the truck tax is real as fuck there, Cummins tax even more so.
So I said fuck it and swapped a V10 and 3/4 ton drivetrain into my 1500.

i bought mine last november, 135k miles, 6.0 liter. bought from an older guy, who was the original owner, and obviously took care of the truck. it was ready for front end work, so i did all of it before winter came. im averaging 17MPG. i run the stanadyne stuff every tank.

See that single owner stuff is a rare find. I was looking at a 2004 duramax single owner truck from out west but of course he sold it the day before.
Does anyone else have trouble with almost everything on the market being sold buy a kid in the 18-25 yr old range who you know beat the ever living fuck out of the truck? I mean how the hell do they even afford to get into these things in the first place?
