They made a 480hp production engine in 1963 with pushrods and a carb, and it took Ford over 50 years to beat that with huge leaps in tech, I would say GM's effort was more impressive than this engine is today. The 1969 ZL1 is up there too. However Ford's cammer was definitely more powerful than this new engine is, which is also 50 years old and was available as a factory option.
