Say you fancy yourself a regular bogan and want an older Honda civic
But the local market is outrageous.
Is the fit a good undiscovered alternative tuner car? Is there any of the gumption of the older civics eh?

I came here to say this.
nah, they aren't as good, shitty solid rear axle suspension
would be fun to swap a k20 and just use it for highway pulls
if you want a classic fwd sports car get an ae110 or import a civic from japan wher ethey are cheaper

What about a Toyota Cavalier? It's a rebadged version of the American market Chevy Cavalier, which was competitive as a tuner car. Hell, a previous tripfag, KD on here, used to have a 250 HP example with a GM Supercharger kit on his Quad 4 swapped car.
All the Toyota Cavalier's came with the glorious Oldsmobile Quad 4 engine so you don't need to worry about the anemic 2.2L pushrod I4 so many American market cars had.
From the American perspective, the Cavalier was capable of putting the hurt on a lot of Civics
