Where Grand Tour might go wrong is that they're using Amazon - which has very little penetration in the UK, and what it does have worldwide (20 million subscribers), is mainly just people on prime for the free postage.

IT has been separated. I imagine Bezos was planning this for a while, however wanted content to sell it for him. I think that is what motivated his offer to Clarkson and crew. He has award winning shoes, deals with HBO, and now minor subscriptions services. Having the Hosts of arguably the most popular show in the world is clincher.
