Got about $5,000 to spend on a pickup truck. Convince me not to get a 90s Silverado.

You can't handle it. Psychologically, that is.

tbi is underpowered and got meh gas mileage but god damn are they reliable. they switched to the vortec in 96 if you dont want a TBI
>rear diff and trans arent a problem unless you are doing burnouts and thrashing them, even then. a rear end is $300 and transmissions are plentiful unless you get the 5 speed
good pick OP go for it

What does a Silverado have to do with Traumatic Brain Injury?
Buy mine, it has mileage out the wazoo, but it has no rust
GMT 400s are fantastic trucks. I'm on my third and the only time they haven't started is because of a dead battery. Replace shocks and ball joints when you get it. It will ride amazing for >200 in parts.

Play your cards right and $5k can get you a big block Suburban on 1 tons with an M101 for whenever you need a bed.
Or it can get you a stock pickup.
Either way make sure it's GM and 1/2 ton absolute minimum, with 3/4 ton preferred.

Problem for all 90s 1/2 tons. Solution is don't buy a 1/2 ton.
>Also TBI a shit
TBI is fine other than being underpowered. Buy a 96+ Vortec to solve that issue.
