Currently driving a MR2W3 (pic related)
What will be my next car? Looking for some lightweight below 1000 kgs with perfect handling, no electronic helpers and some decent speed ~5 sec 0-100 km/h
Things I got so far:
Lotus Elise/Exige: Perfectly matching my demands, but struggling with the support, also, how durable are those?
Gt86/BRZ: No, to heavy, just drifting.
Ginetta G40R: Not available here.
New Alpine (Vision 2016): might fit.
Ideas?

Is the Elise the only way, pic related.
MX5 / Fiat124Spider: Too mainstream, not at all purist
Caterham/Westfield: I want a car with roof.
Porsche: Just no. Too heavy and not worth the money.
Alfa 4C: Too expensive.
caterham? If I lived in eu that would be my go to, I just hope you dont want to dd it. Or do if you have thr balls and can do without a trunk lol.

oh shit I just saw the rest of your post, then get the roof, but you have to pat extra

I can live without a trunk (the MR2 has 90l of storage behind the seats, that's it), but not without a roof.
Caterham/Westfield are 100% pure fun to drive, but not to work etc.

124 Abarth

The Lotus is really your only choice mate based on the parameters you provided. Even with a huge budget (which you didn't list) I can't seem to think of cars that are that light off the top of my head outside of the Elise.

VX220/Opel Speedster turbo. 930 kg, sub 5 sec 0-100 km/h
There isn't much that weighs less than 1000 kg. Even the MX-5 ND is around 1050 kg
>>15003936
Why don't you just modify your MR2 to make it better than all the cars you listed?
>>15005014
That fucking car is pure sex holy shit , and what about a NSX anon? Think they are too expennsive in EU tho

This. Drop in a 2zzge and turbocharge it. Get some competent tuner to work on the suspension and there you go.
