It's feeding gasoline down the part of the engine where there's supposed to be air going in. Assuming they set their giant-ass carbs up right, all that will happen is that their mixture goes really rich. They're stripping the mixture of oxygen however since they displace some of it with gas. So basically, they will blow some smoke and that's about it.

Why didn't they just rig a windscreen wiper pump up for injecting the nitro meth or whatever in the other scenes? Like it was something they did regularly in chases, so why have a guy always have to climb out there with a little squirt bottle?
