So I know using an air compressor is the go to method for putting grips on.
but I don't have easy access to an air compressor that isn't a ~40min ride.
Could I use a can of those pressured canisters you use for cleaning electronics surely it would work the same.
And fuck the hair spray method

sell the car? negative. its the only car my dad's got, hes had it since i was 15 and ill be 26 on june 1st.....he's very frugal. 2002 camry 3.0L with 232k miles on the clock, yet hes a co-director of Embry Riddle in phoenix. maybe one day he'll get something deserving of his hard work

sell the bike? Fucking never. Its a 2004, I found/bought it on craigslist with exactly 4300 miles on it.....its like brand new still. perfect first bike for me, and the PO's son had fallen going about 10mph when turning on some gravel, got spooked and didnt wanna ride anymore.....so because of a crack and a couple chips in the front left fairing (see those stickers lol?) i got a smoking deal on it.

that's actually pretty fucking badass man, ive yet to see that particular color scheme on an exf 250r...........was that from the factory? all i ever see are the abundant completely green ones, and rarely a few nanners. i know there's another nanner anon here, hes on that gay list.

welp, it blue booked at 1700 in brand new 0 miles condition. i paid 1600 after negotiating - grand new tires, complete service records from Kelly's Kawasaki from new to now (oil changes, first valve adjustment), brand new coolant and oil, PO had replaced radiator hoses cuz of age, chain was still a tad wet from getting lubed (he forgot to tell me but i had noticed it and asked), he even showed me a video he recorded a week prior of him cleaning out the carbs and re-jetting them for az's elevation.

i think i gots me a good deal :x couldn't have been a better craigslist deal.......none of the typical not returning calls, bike looks nothing NEAR what it does in the ad, sketchy tweekers selling stolen shit. he bought me a temp pass so i could ride it home, had a bill of sale already made, and gave me oil/filter.

Anyone else find it funny that Fuzzy is repping for a bike that is that small? I know she is the dirtbike rider but it seems odd when the comic makes fun of "little bikes"

u could just clean the carbs out/tune them/install new sparky plugs and put some fresh gas?

or are there more factors? genuinely curious. ive been a professional auto tech for a good while now, i have seen that sometimes the condition of a car can be GREAT but it's technology is older and thats why its a pigfart turd shitlord.......same concept with your bike?

still cant believe thats not a 250 lol.

I have a dilemma /dbt/ red pill me ..

I wanna buy a sports bike but there aren't many options around and the very few are not exactly what I have in mind (cruisers, or 800+ bikes)

First bike btw

Also I have been warned to not buy brand new, because I'll drop it, etc which doesn't seem so weird or unusual, if I do, I would put sliders on it and ofc get insurance

My best option so far as a mid ground on reliability, price, looks and decent power is a Honda CBR 250 R year 2016

Pls opinions?

The sports lineup is outdated because they dominated the market for so long they got to rest their laurels.

Btw, I am a french fag, so I don't really know if what I will say apply to other Europe's countries.

So, after the low speed slalom, that I did a little to fast, getting me a B. I was like "Okay the harder is done for me, B is enough". So I relaxed a bit, knowing that the rest will be pretty easy.
When I took my passenger to finish the stage, in the final turn I put a foot on the floor because I was to slow this time. Giving me a second B and so a C.

hmm It DEFINITELY might be time to longpost about low speed control.

>>14963791
the #1 thing to remember about low speed control and drops in particular is that the amount of power you feed to the rear wheel will control your lean angle, if you feel you're going too slow and are going to drop it? Well the answer is obvious, let out some more clutch and the bike will pick itself up.

If you've got a 125 or whatever you can practice this now, go out to a parking lot, get a high idle, slip the clutch, cover that rear brake, turn your handlebars all the way until they're on lock and you're not capable of turning them in any harder and do donuts, just do circles as tight as you can, pretend your feet are glued to the pegs and when you feel like the bike is about to "drop" let out some more clutch and give some more power to the rear wheel and you will feel the bike pick up without taking your feet off the pegs, repeat this and you will retrain your brain to keep the feet on.

I just made a weird observation:
While cleaning my wheels, I had the bike in neutral and the wheels turned too much, so I decided to put it into first gear to lock the wheel. Then, after I tried to turn the wheel in 1st with the clutch in, it was considerably harder to turn it than in neutral.

This isn't Normal, right? The wheel should turn just as easily in 1st with the clutch in as it does in neutral, afaik. Is my clutch fucked?

no it's normal.
>>
>>14964114
Nah, binge watching Initial D last year got me to learn to drive.
>>
>>14964136
But how? Shouldn't the clutch be completely disengaged after I pull the lever, thus the wheel should be able to turn just as easily as in neutral. Or am I missing something?
>>
Because still trying to clean up horrible shit welds on my license plate relocation.

Turns out grinding and redrilling the slots the guy filled cracked the rest of the welds. It didn't break exactly, but squeeked and moved as well as having visible cracks.

I packed the whole thing with jb weld and it's drying now. It's just a pisser that I put all this effort into one piece and instead of a nice custom part in getting a ghetto rigged POS.

When the bike is in neutral, the output and input shafts of the transmission can rotate independently. So when you spin the wheel, you're spinning the wheel, sprockets, and output shaft of the transmission. When the bike is in gear though the two shafts of the transmission are connected, so the extra friction come from the fact that you're now trying to spin the wheel, sprockets, the input and output shafts, the clutch steels, and inner hub.

More moving parts = more friction

Here's a motorcycle tranny if you're having trouble visualizing the input and output shafts.

>>
>>14964242
>but as I have said, CLUTCH PULLED IN
When it's in neutral you're spinning less than with the clutch pulled in okay?

Neutral spins up to the output shaft, pulling the clutch pulls everything up to the clutch.

I have a question. I'm wanting to get my motorcycle license. But I've never ridden one before. Concept doesn't seem hard and I've found a bike a like (Harley Davidson iron 883 as a starter) but I'm a bigger dude at 5'11" 260lbs. Would an 883 cc bike be a good starting point? Or do I need something bigge/smaller to get started?

why would you want to get a bike made by a brand that literally makes the ugliest motorcycles ever

You can shatter your knee tripping over something too, don't see anybody putting on impact resistant clothing while going out shopping do you? The risks are low at MSF, you don't need to shell out 300 dollars for some riding pants, 200 for a riding jacket, a 300-900 dollar helmet, 50 dollars gloves and 200 dollar riding boots for an MSF course, especially when most people spend months trying to find a nice bike after taking an MSF course.

Yeah for the future, when you have money to spend on gear. If you're concerned about spending 800 dollars on gear, you probably shouldn't be having a motorcycle.
>>14964389
you can get fucked doing anything, I fractured my ankle carrying a tv out of a connex, and I was wearing a good pair hiking boots designed for ankle support, shit happens.

I rather not destroy my body when doing something with a high risk.
I'm planning to still being able to do things I like later on, also it will cost my job if I shatter my knee for example.
