I might look at buying a second bike since I've heard horror stores of it taking over a year for a pay out. The damage on the Yamaha is only €3,500 I don't know why they don't just pay.

synchronize engine speed and transmission speed to reduce driveline shock and tire slippage when shifting.
>>
>>14908704
Probably slightly less wear and tear on the clutch but if you let your revs go down far enough you should be able to drop a gear and ease out the clutch without much of a jerk at all. Clutches are consumables anyway. You'll also probably be keeping yourself more in the power zone of higher revs if you're blipping as opposed to letting yourself go down to almost idle before shifting down.

Ride somewhere interesting. One of the main problems with a lot of motovloggers is they just ride around in their big American towns along straight roads, stopping and starting and it's dull as shit. I'm sure we told you this when you were first talking about doing this and yet here you are posting a seven minute video of painfully dull British roads. Find a touge and ride that for material. Film your time at that adventure touring weekend thing. Go to a big city and film yourself doing some hektic filtering.

DO NOT post videos of yourself driving along dull roads.

Really depends on whether what you're saying is interesting/educational/funny or not. I don't think you hit on much of that in your video. You're too inexperienced to be giving riding lessons on youtube though so don't even bother with any of that. You can talk about stuff that has helped you though. The videos also don't need to be that long. 3 minutes of good material is better than ten minutes of meh. Also not all your material needs to be riding the bike. Get off it and feed some ducks or something for a laugh. Do some slow speed practice in a car park and film yourself doing figure of eights or something. MIX IT UP! You know?

Keep it up though. Nobody is hot shit stright off the bat. You're still a shitlord for not coming to SEM though.

First of all, thank you for the feedback.

Now.
Your ideas came really helpful, thanks. I'll probably go back to the drawing board and approach recording with a different intent. IU don't think that talking is my forte, so I think u won't focus on talking the whole time as much.

I need to find better roads. That's a definite and also doable.

>duration
THE HARDEST thing to do ever. I'm telling you. I already cut out like over an hour of useless talking in that second video as well as complete silence.

I think I need to make sure to record an intro sentence and an out sentence so I won't have to look for a good sentence to close on.

How was the music in the second one?
Is that stuff annoying or did it work well?

What wind speed do you guys consider too dangerous to ride (at high speeds) at?

For me it's ~13+mph, it's 18mph today
>>
>>14909237
Losing weight would realistically never make you noticeably faster. You'd have to be in the realm of MotoGP before things like that were anywhere near relevant.
A 400lb bike plus a 200lb rider is 600lbs total. Say that 400lb bike makes 100bhp for sake of convenience. P/W ratio is .1666~
If you lose 40lbs total moving weight drops down to 560lbs.
P/W ratio is .1785

Not even a 10% improvement in P/W. You'd be shaving tiny fractions of a second off of your quarter mile time, but you wouldn't notice it just riding around.

I didn't really notice the music. It's pretty low down in the mix but it wasn't annoying so that's always good.

Intro and outro would be good but you might need to get some more material together first. Some sort of mini clip collage with text and music would be nice.

You should also get /dbt/ fags to submit epic webms for your videos. OC only obviously.

Pig fat heavy bikes don't get pushed nearly as much on the highway by high winds. Some 600lb touring bike or Hurrly would probably be able to brave 50mph winds. It'd just be really loud and uncomfortable for the rider.
>>
On one hand, MT-09 was a fucking blast to test ride.
On the other hand, the seat was uncomfortable.
Then, on yet another hand, the MT-07 was comfy as fuck.
But, on one other hand again, it wasn't an MT-09.

Why must life be about so many decisions? Why can't we all be issued a bike at birth, then never have to worry about such choices ever again.

I had a CBF500 before this and actually the SV is easier to filter because the bars aren't as wide.

I don't understand buying used motorcycles.

I' m new to them and obviously looking to get into them, but like you guys recommend I read the guide and looked up the models into the craigslit and lo and behold everything half decent is the same price as buying new, but without the option for financing and it's a possibly shittier version too.
The exception is usually the sv's that are still a couple grand for a ten year old model (still high honestly) but I'm scared off of them having no experience and not knowing what I'd do if I ran into immediate problems with the older parts.
Why does dbt go against the most basic motovlogger advice of buying new bikes?

If you are making turns you're doing it, whether is subconsciously by feel or otherwise. Wheels are gyroscopes, and we turn by leaning them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Countersteering

Read this if you actually want to understand. You do it at low speed and you do it at high speed. It's integral to balancing and turning a two wheeled vehicle. It's entirely subconscious at low speeds but when you're riding at higher speeds around longer corners you can do it consciously.
