I offered them €21'450 (they're considering)
I'm buying it for my dad. Do you think it looks cool?

What cool old (affordable) Mercedes do you like?
Sounds about right. 21k would be a great deal.
>What cool old (affordable) Mercedes do you like?
Basically too many to list. Even just affordables.
You can get regular Benzes of the same age for 3k in Germany. Not with that engine but I don't think yer dad will appreciate the motorization anyway.

(maybe) Something you already own?
>>14908515
Oh, it's a Jap reimport, by the way. Which isn't a bad thing. Them Japs REALLY love their German cars of the time.
I can't see any listing or mention of maintenance history. Be careful, but with that mileage, I assume it'll have a spotless history.
bought a 1960 mercedes 180s project that needs some major body repairs.
>>14908521
It was his first New car.
Not this one of course.
And now he has an Alfa that broke, and I think it's the perfect timing
>>14908508
You could get a 500E for that you dafty
>>14908547
A good 500E is easily 15k more. And then there's what OP said here >>14908536
>It was his first New car.
He's doing it for his dad. That's nice.

I think the S Class from about 1970-1999 is the classic Mercedes to go for. The lower tier models still smart of 'I am pretty poor' no matter how good the condition. You can easily buy a 450SEL 6.9, 560SEL or a 600SEL in really good condition with most of the optional extras for that kind of money
