I have a 2003 Ford Focus with a 2.0L 16v i4 Zetec engine. I've done close to no work on it aside from replacing the timing belt with a chain and it's running incredibly strong at 246,000mi on the odometer. I use it as a track car for rallyx and making runs up local Otay truck trails and it's a little fuckin monster.

IDK, i'm a Ford guy but I never took an interest in the 4.0 or Ranger for that matter (that's what my buddy sold)
And the only reason he sold it, is because he found a 93 Model with a 5 speed, he hated driving an automatic.
>>14904023
Yep, many of them do go for very high miles, I've seen many on forums with over 300k, most people have auto transmission problems long before they have engine problems in their Explorers/Rangers. That's why I'm personally more of a fan on the 5 speed but they can be somewhat hard to find in the Explorers.

>>14901350
Back when I had my '97 SL1 the block cracked for no apparent reason. Every time she started up or cooled down she would piss coolant out of the crack. Tried using JB Weld to fix it but another crack would form close by. In the end she kept chugin' along until 250,000 miles when I finally bought something different.

Had a 2001 Mazda B2500 5 speed 2wd,a couple years ago, was a great truck, gas mileage sucked but I have no problems out of the engine, only reason why I sold it is because I found F-150 4x4 I fell in love with.
Now I am wanting to buy another truck because I miss driving a manual, automatics are convenient but they are so boring to drive

f22a1 with oil and filter changes
tomorrow I have to take a torch to the exhaust manifold because its fucking rusted slag and fused with the remains of my downpipe. there's an oil leak...... somewhere, the flywheel's got a chipped tooth, the front motor mount hasn't existed for about a year and if you hold the brake pedal down as you stop the engine it takes 10 minutes to start back up on its own.
Frankly I have no idea why this thing is still running at all but we're going to just keep going and see how long it lives.
