It's good looking, just not as good looking as the last one, which was one of the best looking cars of all time imo.

It's frustrating it doesn't have a V8 or Supercharged V8 because of multiple reason, but they did a great job with the TTV6.

It's a cool car and I'm just glad Ford is producing another supercar. It isn't what I'd want from them or what I think they're capable of, but I'm one 20yo guy in college and they have teams of engineers to build it and economists to figure out what's going to sell and what's best for the company. So maybe, just maybe, 100s of professionals knows better than me what the Ford GT should be like.
>>
Fuck you! I really think that this Ford GT can be a worldwide phenomenon once it's wheels touches the real LeMans race. You fucking wait.
>>
>>14895278
I think it looks pretty good OP, I don't see the problem.
>>
>>14895278
Its a twin turbocharged v6 making 600+ horsepower.... I don't understand why people have a problem with this. Is it because all the Americans are upset because it does not have a v8? This car is a wonderful bit of engineering coming out of the states for once. They actually put thought into the design, don't shit on it.

Just a sign of the times, blame CAFE. Smaller turbocharged engines do well in their lab testing even if they don't deliver the projected fuel savings on the road. The new car sounds interesting at least.

Again, people love the design and hear TTV6 and aren't bothered because of cars like the GT-R. One guy I spoke to said it'd be cool if they offered cheaper version with the Voodoo V8, but he wasn't put out by the TTV6.

>>14895463
Yeah, the Voodoo would have been great for muh heritage and the sound. But this is Fords new halo car and they're showcasing Ecoboost because engines are only going to get smaller for the most part. Plus the fact that the TTV6 is going to have 100hp more and over 100lb-ft more torque than the Voodoo surely doesn't hurt. The '05 GT had 550hp, it would seem a little redundant for the new car to have less by using the Voodoo.
>>
>>14895463
Some cars don't need 700hp bro, the FORD GT isn't about muh racin in a straight line, you need balance.

The V6Turbo really is enough for this car, look at nissan fucking destroying cars with it. It's the technology that will finally end up making the difference.
>>
>>14895531
Oh I didn't want the Supercharger V8 for the power. It could have had the same power desu and I wouldn't have cared that much. It's more about heritage and sound.
But the TTV6 is a great engine and will do great thing, just not what I would have wanted.

>>14895488
Well you know they could have upped the power, especially with the use of a supercharger, they know what they're doing with that shit. But it is great for marketing to have that ECOBOOST name on their supercar and on their standard cars. I understand why they did what they did, and it was the smart thing to do. IMO it just wasn't the right thing to do!

This is one of those rare moments that Ford gets to act like Ferrari and everyone treats their product like Ferrari.

This might be the only case of "The people's car" builder being treated as one of the elite automakers.

I see your point, but if we stay our course we'll never try new things. Also no one seems to remember what happens every time Americans get good at racing: they change the rules.

Maybe Ford thought "there's no way they can ban a turbo v6" and designed it that way as a preemptive measure,as opposed to incurring new design costs.

If you want to talk about failed marketing, never forget to press F for the FWD Nissan prototype.
>>
>>14901413
I would just prefer 600 hp from 6+ litres of displacement than from a smaller turboed engine. It might have less torque but it would sound better and be simpler to maintain.

Turbo engines are more maintenance intensive and the trickier any servicing is to do the less likelihood it has of being done

It's a terrible design decision meant to help shill turbo mustangs to dude bro benchracers. Ford has compromised their racing identity.

Everyone talks a lot of shit about Dodge, but at least they stick to their roots. None of this turbo nonsense. Just raw, senseless, brutal power.

Back in the seventies, Ford saw what Dodge was doing and tried to one up them as hard as possible with their V8s. Now, Dodge releases the Hellcats and the new ACR and Ford answers with two limp wristed, design by committee sports cars.
>>
>>14904044
>identity
I'm pretty sure retards said the same when everyone switched from carbs to DI like it was the final betrayal.
Nigger they're companies, overgrown money making machines for their owners, any 'identity' or feelings you assign to them is nothing but proof that you saw the marketing blather and ate it right up like delicious candy.
They adapt their product range to changing times and you treat it like a personal insult. How infantile can you get? They make cars for fucks sakes. CARS. I love cars but they're nothing but target demographic calculations on wheels, always have been after carmakers got their shit together after the second world war.
>>
>>14902874

If you think about it, the V12 engine is actually doing less work than an equivalent straight six with the same mileage.
>>
>>14904087

You can think that shit if you want, but the very existence of a 707 horsepower Dodge sedan negates it. Ford is one of the single most powerful automotive entities around. They could put a fresh shit in every passenger seat of every car at every dealership in American and still turn a profit. Instead of using their massive piles of money and reputation to build a car befitting the title of GT, they pumped out this horseshit.

I don't really give a shit what Ford does, in the long run. American automotive companies are dying their final death. Chrysler will be the first to go, and with them the legacy of AMC. It'd just be nice to see the other two shot factories push the limits as ruthlessly as SRT has.
>>
>>14904649
The problem with your line of thinking is that the people that give a shit about what you want can't afford to buy what Dodge was selling with the SRT brand. It says a lot that SRT only lasted 18 months on the market before FCA gave up again. They kept trying to convince people that the SRT line was worth buying and it didn't work You can bitch until you're blue in the face but Ford built the new GT to win a race first, the Viper was just built as an excuse to pay for R&D on an engine design that was once unproven with a bodystyle that was completely hostile to owners.

he was more likely just being autistic and denying that the R35 is considered a Skyline which is technically correct

None of you can buy this shit anyway so excuse Ford to NOT CARE about the opinion of 14 yo virgin fags who don't even have the money to buy the product their engineers are making.
LOL FUCKING SHIT BOARD KILL YOURSELVES NEETS
>>
>>14907250
the car is probably not even going to be profitable for Ford. they are making it so you will think ecoboost Fiestas are cool. it's not working.
>>
>>14907261
if Ford wants people to think ecoboost engines are cool their first step should probably be to stop calling them ecoboost.
>>
>>14907261
They are making it to compete in motorsports along with all the other reasons for making a halo car
Sorry you dojt understand that lower displacement forced induction is the future of performance, both on street and on track

> bbbut i want a 5.8l ohv v8 with a blower!!

the only reason lower displacement is "the future of performance" is because yurocucks were tired of getting BTFO by 427 shelby V8s

I saw the new GT in real life, when I went to the international car show in NY. It looks beautiful. It was the highlight of the whole car show.
>>
>>14907290
How many times did that pos win? Now compare it to the number of victories from porsche
>>
>>14907303
the gt40 won every le mans it entered

they literally made up a rule to limit engine size specifically because of the gt40
>>
>>14897525

I cackled.
>>
>>14907261

Ecoboost fiestas are cool.

>>14907272

The hard truth.
>>
>>14907307
Lol you dokt know shit
All the fielded gt40s in 64 and 65 didn't even finish the race
>>
>>14907307
And engine size was entirely irrelevant as the sub 5l porsches after the gt40 went bye bye were making significantly more power than the boat anchor 7l ever did
>>

>not having v8 mopeds and strollers
God life must be depressing over there
>>
>>14907323
Then '66 happened and ferrari would never forget that shame...
>>
>>14907891
the '60s GT40s are even today better halo cars than the 2017 will ever be
>>
>>14898459
who cucks YOU? U Toyotacuck? Beemercuck?
Benzcuk? Audicuck? VWcuck?
>>
>>14907908
Ok? What made '66 and i guess '67 so special though? I thought american could never beat anything european.
>>
>>14907908
Let me get this straight. Company X builds a state of the art mid engine turbo supercar to race at Le Mans. Also build street version of said car.

if Company X=Ford
then car = SHIT FUCK CRAP AMERITARDS!! CAN'T ENGINEER WORTH SHIT!!!!

if Company X= any other company
then car (not American)= GOD MACHINE GREATEST ACHEIVEMENT OF MANKIND HALLELUAH!!!

And i'm just here waiting for the C8

Honestly would rather just get an SLC with a twin turbo Honda V6
>>
>>14895278
I don't mind the look and don't care if it's a v6 but the sound is fucking awful. By a Ford supercar and get a fartcan exhaust.
>>
