They don't isolate much, I actually use them sometimes without even playing music because I can still hear fine but it lowers the noise levels in my car.
Helps because my other car is loud inside and after an hour of driving my ears are very fatigued.

It's not ear plugs, the attenuation levels are MUCH less.
You could say that driving around with a radio blasting should be illegal since it raises the noise floor "dangerously" high and blocks your normal hearing.
Either way you look at it, headphones or blasting over speakers, you're going to have reduced hearing.

well but thats the case, dude. that thing runs without a single problem since soon 8000 kilometers except that oil leak. and it has 316500 on it now, was 309000 when i bought it.
i had to change a fuse once. not because it was burnt, but because the vibrations vibrated the metal off the fuse on where its in contact with those other metal parts.
dude it even started in -15 degrees in the winter without any problems. this was probably one of the best buys i ever made. a little rust here and there but nothing bad, and on no important parts.
