Why is it so hard to find a truck that is:

>regular cab
>4x4
>manual transmission
>long bed

This is literally the most utilitarian platform of a truck and it's near impossible to find.

Full size? Those are the easiest.
Or old as fuck 1ton toyotas
>>
>>14891736
well, if you're looking for a used one, it's because nobody buys them anon. you can get a new one if you save up your money though.

It's because 1/2 ton trucks(I'm assuming you're looking for a 1/2 ton) aren't made for work anymore. I'd go with a 3/4 and 1 ton truck, but even then will most likely be extended or quad cab.
Personally I'd buy an older truck
-Easier to fix
-Don't have to worry about damage as much
-Availability of parts and known problems/solutions
Id look into these
>Late 70s/Early 80s Chevy K10-K30
350 for 1/2 and 3/4 ton, 454 for 1 ton
>72-80 Dodge W100-W300
318,360,400 and 440 are all great engines and will do about anything you need
>81-93 Dodge W150-W350
318 and 360, 5.9L Cummins available in 89-93(stay away from 89 and 90 4x4 w/diesel. The hubs are weak and wear fast. 91-93 are fine though)
>73-79 Ford F250-F350
I'm excluding the F150 because the available engines are nothing special(unless it's swapped with a 351C or 351W) The 460 is the best available option.

objectively wrong on all counts, but go ahead and be mr. nostalgia, nobody here is gonna stop you.

The biggest thing going against OP is that most 2-door work trucks (1/2 ton) on the lot are 4x2 for fleets. 4x4 as an option is more rare. Thus the used market makes it tough for OP to get what he wants.

You can build exactly the truck OP wants on all three murrican truck maker websites.

because
>truck
and
>utilitarian
Aren't a thing anymore. They're basically barbies for grown men/teenage hicks. Gotta get all the accessories.

I cringe when I see people running no mud flaps especially when the vehicle is all muddy. You don't want rust, do you?

I need to daily drive this truck every day of the year through Canadian winters. I basically need a fuel injected new truck for the reliability. I drive a lot so I need something good on fuel.

I love classics, but mainly as weekend cruisers. Maybe if I lived down south I'd be able to.

Dude that's all that seems to be in my area.
>>
>>14892186 You might be able to exceptions, but the overwhelming rules are:

1) half-tons are the staple of fleets and do plenty of work
2) older trucks aren't necessarily easier to fix--they have plenty of quirks, and while they're simpler in design, they require a lot more fiddling to keep tuned up. a backyard mechanic can still fix a modern truck.
3) parts for a 30 to 50 year old truck are more likely to be hard to find than parts for a 2000s truck

Don't get me wrong; I love old trucks. My 82 bronco was one of my fav's all-time and I learned to drive on a 78 F-100. But if you really think any of your opinions are more than opinions, you're silly, bropai..

Already been stated previously, 1/2 tons are bought by pple who use them as commuters or family haulers so they're all gonna be extended cab or bigger. Go onto any stealership lot that sells trucks and I almost guarantee you won't find a regular cab. Heavier duty trucks are bought by commercial companies for hauling tools and work crews around, so again you'll see crew cabs as the norm.

Easiest way to get what you want is to order it that way new. Or if you live near oil companies, buy one of their fleet trucks. Thats what I did when I lived in Bakersfield. Oil companies will actually spring for the 4x4 along with regular cab long bed because the roads out there can get pretty shitty. But barring that you're going to have to shell out the bucks or just wait and get lucky
