It is much easier to deal with a leather interior than a cloth interior.
Leather can literally be wiped down, then wiped down again to immediately dry it. Try that with your cloth interior.

Leather isn't maintenance free, it will dry and crack up if not properly taken care of. Once that happens it looks like complete shit.
Cloth interiors are fine long as you clean the interior on a semi-regular basis and aren't a fat fuck who eats in the car.

Leather is much easier to maintain and clean than cloth seats. Also with every new shitbox including heated/cooled seats, temperature isn't an issue anymore either. There's literally no downside to leather now.
As bad as it looks, in bum fuck middle of Texas, the high exposure in summer and whenever makes beige interiors functional since black makes it hot as fuck. I'd still take a grey interior over it.

Some of us live where winter is a thing. I've got two sets of floor mats for any of my cars I drive year round. Carpet for the three good seasons, rubber for the hell that is winter. Carpet just gets fucked up with salt and crud during the winter. It's a total pain to clean out and usually ends up stained.
