The Grom is one of the most useless, asenine, pencil dick, gigcuck "motorcycles" ever made. Do not like it as doing so encourages Honda to continue to develop and produce these microdick bicycles with engines. I can see it now, "Grom touring edition" where the windscreen is bigger than the bike itself. "Grom dual sport edition" for the manlet to use in his sandbox! What a piece of shit of a machine. Fuck the Grom, people who like the Grom are permavirgin neckbeard autists too stupid to have an actual motorcycle.

WR Anton, why don't you get a nice used 70 or 80cc Monkey Bike to fill the void in your heart? They were made in the 80s, you can find parts on eBay, it'll teach you basic wrenching and best of all a lot of them are 2stroke so they're actually fun unlike your prized-but-sold WR.

In Britain we have 'pay at pump' which is a fucking godsend in the winter.

You stick your card in, enter PIN.
Take card out.
Fill up bike
Bills you for fuel taken.

So nice not having to take helmet, earplugs and shit out and then in winter not having to disturb my anti-cold setup.

I've only got a few of these anywhere near me. They're great but I would imagine most of the fuel stations aren't interested in installing them any time soon since it would mean people not having to go into the shop so reducing other "while I'm here" type sales.

Yeah it's only really the supermarkets that have them around here, probably because they don't make a lot of money on the shop things because its the same price as the big store.
>>
>>14867968
Here most have them. Half of the fuel stations don't even have a shop anymore. They can cut those costs, sell the fuel for less and make more money of it because they sell more fuel.

You are not meant to wear a jacket with it.

It has holes all over it to keep you cool when you are riding slow in the city.

It has big armour parts so if some cunt knocks you off, you can land on your arm no problem.

It has very little abrasion protection.
>>
>>14868609
Just get a jacket with armor built in. No need for all of that.

Yes, you are. Its an under garment. You wear a base layer like a normal tshirt, or a compression shirt, then you put on the armored jacket, then an ordinary riding jacket.

Put some fuel stabilizer in it and run it for a minute or 2 to let it circulate. This will prevent fuel deposits from forming. Shitty ethanol additives have been proven to start forming deposits in as little as 3 weeks, possibly sooner. So do that. Also put your battery on a tender to keep it charged. It's like winterizing in the short term. Also if it's just gonna be sitting you could do some maintenance on it while you wait, just for fun.
>>
>>14868782
>Hows the city?
Absolute ass, I went for a ride with couple of my friends yesterday, we hit JFk and it has some decent "sweepers" but bunch of cars and shit, we ended up going to the city and the roads are atrocious, on top of that traffic everywhere.
>>
>>14868689
Actually it would charge his battery if he revved it up a little, but a battery tender is better for that.

Sorry, I thought you meant budget for its displacement class. The Varadero is about the most capable 125 out there but it's still a 125. NC700/750X's give you something close to big boy bike performance for pretty good economy.

>>
>>14869109
dont buy a buell blast
>>
>>14869109
Summary:
The worst of the worst

This motorcycle vibrates so much, it's almost unreal. Hey, I've got an XL600R 1982, 600cc single, and it doesn't even come near to how much vibration you get with that bike, it's ridiculous. I'm used to dirt bikes (got a CR250), and this thing vibrates like nothing I've seen.

The transmission is very clunky. The gears are not well related one to each other. First gear is very low, and second is very high, meaning you cannot make small turn (like a corner) in second.

The engine doesn't have enough torque for the revolution. If you downshift to first, even rev matching almost locks the rear wheel.

Getting the bike to move in first will either get you to spin the rear wheel, or the engine will die.

Anyway, don't buy or rent this motorcycle; it could be a big mistake.

Doing oil change with a friend to our bikes and he over-torqued his oil drain plug and cracked the casing. I'm thinking a spot weld would be the best option here but I'm not sure, maybe he has to buy a whole new oil pan? Bike's from 1982 so it's going to be pretty difficult.

Drips oil about a drop every minute or two. You can see the crack in the photo here outlined. If the bolt goes tighter it just opens up to about a mm thick at the bottom and keeps dripping.
