hence why I'm asking if the Aprilia Pegaso has non-italian electric engineering. I can't ride a BMW, when going anywhere near one a phenomenon only observable with magnets happens - we repel each other through natural forces.

They were made by a small company here in Adelaide (South Australia). I forget the name of them. I got them for free because I have TN. I don't know if they're still around but they were in Adelaide Arcade if that helps.
They're in-ear monitors but you get them made with bluetooth function and you can link them to basically anything you want.
I use them for live performing since I can send the monitoring signal straight into my ears instead of using speaker monitors. They're comfy and work well on the bike too.
I don't have mine on hand at the moment (not at home), but they're a more DIY looking take on this basically. Mine are pretty old school now but it's a very quickly evolving field.

Prussians hate Bavarians
Bavarians hate Prussians
Aprilia Pegaso is the same bike as BMW F 650, just not with a bavarian badge
F 650s were made by Aprilia anyways
As Prussian I cannot ride bavarian bike
saggy tits = BMWs favorite type of bike engine where cylinders are not standing up straight but instead hang down the sides like a pair of grandma boobs

I'd argue the tracks are more responsible for the changes than the suits, I'm sure the airbag suits help but when the old 500cc guys went off it was usually into a fucking ditch or grass and a wall not endless tarmac runoff with well maintained gravel trap for 200 meters past that.

Been riding for a good while now and I need something bigger.
I've used and abused the shit out of my little YBR.
Ridden down and then back up a flight of stairs because the main road was blocked off and I had to get to the liquor store, been full airborne 2 or 3 times, scraped pegs on corners etc
I want a bike that I can hit highway speeds on but also be able muscle through some narrow windy ass dirt trails. Not at speed, just to get there and do it.
I've been thinking about some of the adventure bikes I see in these threads.
Recommendations? Ideas?

not always impossible, especially if there's a relative of that motor that had one.
kick is good when you're out away from everything, your battery fucks itself and you're stuck at the bottom of a creek so can't bump start
>>14866275
Damn.
Well, I guess I'll just have to look for one of the old models.
What's wrong with a kick start? I like the option of being able to start the bike when the starter motor decides to shit the bed or the battery is flat.
I guess I could just find a little hill or hope I can push it fast enough to pop the clutch and get it going but why go through all that effort if I can just get a bike with a kick start?

>>14866275
>who WANTS a kickstarter, anyways?
there's a big chic to the action of kickstarting to people who haven't had a kickstarted machine before, that's why when yamaha very smartly reintroduced the SR400 to the market at an exorbitant price to bankrupt trend-hopping chucklefucks, the two changes they made sure to do were fuel injection to get it under emissions...and taking a previously electric start bike.....and making it kickstart only (with the addition of a little window to see when you're at compression stroke so even retards can kick it)
You see the gimmick novelty of it would appeal to their demographic that sees motorcycling as something akin to a fashion accessory, the image of somebody kickstarting a bike looks "cool" to them.
Anyone who's had kickstart only stuff in the past knows the novelty wears off quick (have fun when you stall that shiny new SR400 at the front of the lights cunt).

only reason i can think is that you get the magic button, otherwise the bike is worse in every way than the xr. tt600 is the next best thing
>>14866302
i'm not even going to pretend that that's how it is for some people but for others (myself included) the main appeal of a kick only bike is the simplicity (the slight weight reduction is neat too).
On dirt bikes it means one less thing to worry about maintaining or breaking when you're chucking the bike around and a well sorted bike should start on the 3rd kick at most when cold so for me it's not really an issue.
For a daily commuter the button is nice but if your only concern is performance and reliability then kick is the way to go
Has anyone replaced chrome plated spokes with stainless steel? Is it worth doing in terms of time saved polishing?
>>14866154
Just get your learners permit and go buy a hayabusa
>>14866293
You. I like you.
If I have a kick I don't need an electric start.
All I want is a bike that can comfortably keep up with traffic on the highway (maybe even pass a few of the slower ones), then on the weekend sling some saddle bags and a rifle case on her and follow a horse trail a couple miles up into the woods to go camping for a few days.
If the stock suspension will survive going just a little airborne every once in a while then that's just icing on the cake.

How hard would it be to adjust from a 450 standard to a Yamaha star 1300 deluxe? A friend of mine is going out of the country and needs his bike taken care of for a while. But that engine size sounds insane.
>>14865914
is that a duct tape knee puck?

are you talking about the meme "REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT" ones?
>>14866372
No, stainless still gets rust and other marks too. Just that its easier to clean with steel wool.
>>14866424
It really shits me when people use engine size as a sole dictator of what the bike is like, i.e. can I handle this 1300cc Yamaha, is this 600cc whatever you much etc.
For the record, unless you have barely any riding experience you'll be fine. Watch out for the weight of the thing at low speed though, you went be used to it.

Why the fuck you're not restocking on the most common sizes?
Do you hate money?
Are you stupid?
>>14866700
Not really, top posts land here like 1-2 days later or just a few hours late when it's something extraordinary. See skid demon, daniel headbutt, cyclecruzas "they did something to the GSXR this year" but changed nothing but paint and lots of other shit and funny maymys
THat said the reddit community sucks dick anyway but's an easy way to cash in views. They have hardly any OC except for "gud beginner bike, crashed my ninja 300"
>>14866677
The swamp and concrete really brings out the best in people. Especially retired northerners
guy martin confirmed for thomas müller
>>14866718
Because maybe the human sizes are sold out at the supplier
>>14866695
why do american classifieds always sound like they were written by borderline retarded people?
>>14866740
Unlikely, considering it's a new line of gear.
Ironically the old one is available in my size, and on sale, so I'm gonna get that.
>>14866752
>Unlikely, considering it's a new line of gear.
Won't be the first time that happened.
>>14866448
>sole dictator
That's why I mentioned the full model of the bike, rather than just the engine size.
>>14866743
Because Craigslist is a minimalist fossil so people use it the same way newspaper classified were.
Always trying to shorten things, assuming one picture is enough.
Part of this is the justifiable writers block from trying to fill an entirely blank page with what you think the seller ought to know.
I wish people would use more thorough listing sites, but often those sites want payment for listing and usually a cut of the sale. People are too ingrained and lazy to shy away from CL.
>>14866743
because that one was written by a nigger.
>>14866743
Most people don't know how to sell
>>14865825
IIRC CRFs use a weird valve system: SOHC where the cam is directly over the intake valves and presses on the bucket directly, but there's a rocker that reaches over to the exhaust valves.
>>14865800
I wouldn't want it 2bh. Especially not for that price.
>>14866801
honestly, everytime someone posts a link to craigslist on here, it's pretty much always "fast bike, title in hand, no lowballs". almost without exception. do these people look at their listing after writing it, and say "yes, this first grade grammar and absence of specs will help me sell this bike"?
>>14866790
but this bloke literally writes more about what bike he would trade it in for instead of what his bike has to offer
>>14866829
maybe for the 150/230 but the MX style crf's are DOHC
>>14866829
Price is fair, most 250r's go for 3000-4500 in my area and thats without rego
>>14866743
because most americans ARE borderline retarded
2001 Suzuki GS500e, good starter bike? guy only wants $1600
>>14866839
The bike they are talking about is a 2008 crf 250r, they are thinking its a 250x because of the headlight.
>>14866743
Because they usually are.
>>14865915
what happened?
>>14866861
bruv if that's all the info you're gonna give us then you can fuck right off
but the GS is probably the most unspecial snowflake bike of all times
>>14866861
Its not a good bike but its not a terrible bike, for that price you won't find much better if thats what you want to know though.
>>14866871
are you a special snowflake?
>>14866877
no, but i also wouldn't want one of the most boring bikes in the world
>>14866881
Does that mean nobike then?
>>14866872
>>14866871
the guy didn't say how many miles, stated it's ready to rider with new tires, just texted him, I just wanted to know in general if it's a good starter bike.
>>14866881
if it's a starter bike that'll only be used for a year, it doesn't really matter
>>14866887
Its alright if you are on a tight budget, if you can afford to spend more money look for a different bike though, a bandit 400 is so much nicer than a gs500.
>>14866884
ya got me
>>14866887
mate, it's basically THE starter bike
>>14866889
but I wouldn't want a bike for a year that'd only give me problems

Honda still uses Unicam on their CRF250R.
