my bad on that one, still tho. took me too long to realize what I did. right crank hose fell down, and I installed the spray hose instead.

only problems here is that you need a grease pit for the grease points.

You can't autocross or rally cross a convertible the SCCA won't allow it
Atleast not in the US

I recently had to put an alternator on what I believe was a Ford Escape.

A large, sideways V6 in a small engine bay with the alternator mounted on the back of the engine.
I had to remove several panels, the CV axle (which involved removing the brakes and hub assembly), the power steering pump and hoses, and disassemble plastic ductwork attached to the alternator while it was still sitting in the engine bay in order to remove it.

I dont understand vehicles on which alternators and starters are so difficult to remove.
Those should be accessable. They break before a lot of other things do.

Let's make a cowl that you can't remove, so that leaves and sticks and shit get in there that you can never get out.
let's also just put one coat of primer paint over un-galvanized metal in, it'll be fine.

So leafs and everything else piles up around these hat things that feed fresh air into the heaterbox and interior, and water runs through the cowl (like it's designed to do) and next thing you know you have mud packed around the hats rusting the absolute shit out of them.
This causes water to run into your floorboards, rusting out your floors and ruining your carpet.
It's such a common problem that they sell complete replacement cowls and patch panels, and nearly every single mustang restoration involves this.
I have to patch mine, because I have the same problem.

Yep, about to patch my floor because I have it. I'm going to go in through the side behind the fender and patch the cowl without pulling the whole thing out, fortunately for me it only leaks on the passenger corner, and all the floor rust is directly below the leak so only need to patch about a 12x18" piece, I just stamped and rolled it last week, might even weld it in today if I can get motivated enough

It is genius.

All subies burn a quart every thousand miles or so, so you never have to change the filter!

>>14867242

It's not too bad on the 03+ models, but still a pain. Pre-03's are a fucking nightmare though.

protip: burning oil means you can skip the dump-and-fill, but you still have to change the filter.
