What do you guys think would be good choice for babbys first classic car restoration project? That is something not terribly expensive, something where I can find spares relatively easily and where the body isn't likely to be rusted to shit.

MGB goes in all fields.

They're cheap, they're mechanically simple, they've got a better parts availibility than every classic car other than the Ford Mustang and Model A, and they're very economical to run. The rubber bumper ones have a low-compression 4-cylinder engine, so they run great on regular 87-octane, and the 1977-and-up models have a 12-volt electrical system. Just check them for rust.

have you built a corvair? because my first car was a mgb, and it was extremely easy to get new and used parts. please don't give advice about imaginary cars.
