Hey op. I'm guessing these numbers are because you have terrible credit.

If that's the case, deal with your 10% for a year and make your payments ON FUCKING TIME to up that score, then refinance the loan with a credit union or different creditor.

Ezpie.

I got my FiST for 16.5k OTD (base model, amazing rebates, thanksgiving sale) with $2,500 down at 1.2% but I have good credit because I've been purchasing (then selling) my cars about every 2 years. The 2015 Fiesta ST is my latest toy and one of the cheapest cars I've ever purchased, but hands down one of my favorites. Coming from driving a Saab 93s, an s2000, and an s500, this stupid little hatchback has been absolute retard-tier fun both on track and off. I applaud your purchase even if it is at an absolute ridiculous interest term (how badly did you want this car amirite?). Have fun with it but take care of it, this is the first time in several generations North America has seen a hot hatch like this. I would like to see the used market for these doing well in 5 years so that the people who can't afford them now get a chance to experience this fucking amazing stupid little car.

>tl;dr I've driven some nice things and I'm embarrassed to like this car as much as I do.

Any tips for dealing with dealerships?

In the market for a new veh looking at the fist rn desu
>>
>>14864135

Talk to Longpostguy.

Your best bet is to go in realizing you need to walk away if the deal seems like shit. Do your research online for whatever car you want. Find out how much it should cost you, know your credit score, get financing before you go from a credit union if possible or from your bank. Know what options you should say yes and no to. Get as much knowledge as possible before you ever even go test drive anything.
>>
>>14863666
It was a real ford dealer with fords in house financing. It was a new 2014 I bought in 2015 so I think they were willing to let the bad credit slide to get rid of the thing. But I just wonder because they told me all the sales and shit didn't apply if I took the 0%.
>>
>>14864135
C R E D I T U N I O N

have a day where you dedicate to only test driving, and getting some basic numbers from multiple dealers. do not run any serious credit applications through them. They're going to try and butter you up to do so, but don't give in.

chances are unless you have amazing credit you'll get boned by dealer financing. Secure financing with your credit union first. See which dealer has the car you want most, and that is going to be more flexible with talking down. you negotiate a final price then get the credit union involved. Be prepared to go to another dealer and set up a new negotiation bringing the offer from the first dealer

just don't rush into it m8

>>
>>14864135
Don't fall for the "how much do you want to pay per month?" line. It's a trick. Negotiate the final price of the car. Not the monthly payments. Also, they'll try to sell you bullshit add-ons and extras that inflate the price of the car. Sometimes, it's preinstalled so you can't refuse it. Negotiate on that shit and be prepared to walk. Finally, be wary that once you strike a deal, they'll shake your hand, send to a back office to do paperwork, but in reality they're going to sell you more shit. Gap insurance and extended warranties. If you want them, know that you can negotiate on this too. Just keep refusing and they'll lower the price lower and lower. You'd be surprised how low they'll go. They're sort of unnecessary anyway, IMO.
>>
>>14864303
>Just keep refusing and they'll lower the price lower and lower. You'd be surprised how low they'll go. They're sort of unnecessary anyway, IMO.

I got 4 years of extended warranty from BMW from $4k down to $2500 after haggling a bit. It kicks in after 2 years of CPO so no worries for six years, feels good man.

Best advice is knowing that you can walk away. I usually deal online because you can get their quotes in a hard copy form then use that as leverage at other dealers. Remember that when one dealership may not want your 22.5k., some other dealer will want your 18.5k

Basically get a rear motor mount, an intercooler, a Cobb APv3 and tuning from Tune+. That's the cheapest way to 270tq (Cobb stage 3 gives around 250tq).

Past that I have an intake that sounds nice and a catback exhaust that didn't add much but also sounds nice. Skip buying a downpipe until you swap out for a bigger turbo.

If the torque steer is a bit much you can some bracing like the street package from Pierce motorsports.

Going by what Longpostguy posted in his most recent threads, 10% is actually the standard rate at the moment for the average consumer. The banks are skittish because everyone's got huge risk going on right now.

So you got the average deal for someone with average credit.

Which isn't ripped-off-tier bad, but also not exactly good given that you're on /o/ and really should have looked to push the price a bit with all the lessons that LPG hands out.

Technically the RMM could give you some warranty issues but I haven't ever heard of it having an affect. The MP215 kit is nice because it doesn't 'affect' the warranty but that doesn't mean the Ford dealership is going to know what it is or that it doesn't void said warranty, though you can always get Ford Performance to give you some back up on it I think.

RMM is the highest QOL thing you can get though, a QuickShift is pretty nice as well since the throws are fairly long stock.

The Fiesta sedan is an ungodly abomination, I can't stand them. :x

The Focus sedan is pretty nice, I think an ST version of that would do very well, though they should have dual exhaust instead of the centered exhaust channel for a performance Sedan.
>>
>>14867115
test drove them back to back, the focus pulled harder in a straight line but if agility is involved it fell flat compared to the fiesta. I could have gotten a focus ST for only $500 more than I got my fiesta for and still chose the fiesta ST.
>>
>>14867125
A few suspension upgrades fixed most of my focus St issues. But I don't remember what it was like from the factory anymore. Was it really that bad?
>>
>>14867113
Eh, some shops more than others. You can generally call them up and ask, just be prepared to give them an explanation of what you're looking to have done and maybe have instructions for the install readily available. Also you should probably compare quotes, and if you're not going to be doing a lot of wrenching your self, it'd be good to have a relationship with a shop you can trust. I wouldn't just trust any shop though, that sounds like a good way to get taken advantage of.

There may also be a 'rent-a-bay' type shops near you, where you can rent a lift with access to tools to work on it for an afternoon. The QuickShift was relatively hard to install just because you're working in a very tight area, the RMM took all of 30 minutes and greatly improved the feel of the car.
>>
>>14867150
It's not that it's that bad, it's just the Fiesta is that good stock. The Focus is a really terrific car, it's just not quite as composed/refined in the turns as the Fiesta is off the lot.
>>
>>14867071
Ford replaced the RMM on my at as part of a warranty claim. They have tsb out on the 2013
>>
>>14867185
That's for the Focus ST, not the Fiesta ST.

We're talking about an aftermarket RMM from Cobb or Mountune that adds stiffness over what the factory mount offers (basically a wet noodle).

Like this:
http://www.cjponyparts.com/cobb-motor-mount-rear-fiesta-st-2014-2016/p/892001/
>>
>>14867151
huh, there are places like that around I hadn't heard of it. How long did the quickshift take? I watched the instructional and it seemed like it would be a pain.

I guess if I were to do a rent-a-bay I might as well wait to throw maybe an intercooler on as well. Would you recommend changing out the tubing as well if doing that?
>>
How does one work down the price while negotiating?

Anyone have an example of how such conversation might go?
>>
>>14867205
basically you just have to make it clear you're willing to walk away at any time.
>>
>>14867205
I would recommend negotiating by email. Get a few different dealerships slinging their lowest deals at you and when one is lower than the other just go back and ask if they will beat it. Then you walk into the dealership with a price pre-negotiated (if they try to add anything you have it in writing, or leave) and it's going to be better than most people can get just sitting and talking with a salesman for an hour
>>
>>14867236
as someone who used to work at a stealership, come in to buy during the end of the month, last 2-3 days. salesmen need to make their quotas and there's almost always a straggler, he'll probably jump at the first chance to get you a deal and will be more willing to convince management to go easy on financing.

also this>>14867236

or if you can get a quote for a car loan from a credit union that's good.
>>
>>14867236

See, can't really do that this time, I think.

I want to buy a Scat Pack Challenger but every single one I find is packaged out the ass.

I want a really simple one with almost nothing on it and I just can't find any in any of the dealerships nearby (~200 miles). So I might have to custom order.

Can I still negotiate by email if I want to custom order?
>>
>>14867204
If you plan on adding an external waste gate than there are some good options for adding charge pipes. If you plan on keeping the stock turbo it's not necessary (unless you want added sound, etc). If you're the MP215 guy and you're thinking of adding an intercooler as well, I would skip the MP215 kit. It doesn't add a lot of power, it's only one tune, you can't ever resell the device used to reprogram your ECU, and you also can't add any custom tunes to it. It's basically a locked down Cobb AccessPort from what I recall, and it's best aspect is some peace of mind about your warranty.

QuickShift took me 90-120 minutes because of how tight the space was and that was after taking the intake air box out.

>>14867205
Pretty much what the other guys said. Get your financing set up from another party, email a bunch of dealerships asking them to provide you with their best Out the Door (all taxes, fees, etc included) price, make sure to tell them you have financing already set up and are looking to buy in the next two weeks. Take the best price you've been offered and shop that around at a few of the dealerships who replied with low offers (or get another offer in writing from a volume dealer you may be willing to travel to). You should have a *realistic* price in mind that you're willing to pay, that is reasonably achievable, and is your valuation of the vehicle. If you get that price, buy the car, otherwise continue contacting dealerships.
>>
>>14867265
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure dealers love custom orders. It's easy money for them.

They tell you the price and you say

>That's more than I was looking to pay, I could see going as high as $_____

>Well I don't think we can do that but I'll bring it to my sales manager and see if we can move some numbers around

Then he goes and bullshits with someone pretending to be the boss that day, and comes back with a counter offer. It will be more than you said but less than the first price you were given. You go back and forth like this until you either get to a price you're willing to pay or they refuse to go any lower, at which point you say

>Okay, well I appreciate your time but this just doesn't work for me. If your manager decides he can make it work for $thepriceyouwantotopay give me a call.

Then get up and walk away. They'll probably call if your price is reasonable, or the manager may even try to catch you before you leave the building. They know once you're out the door it's a lot harder to get you back in. A dealership I frequent just put in a really nice little restaurant for that reason.

>Hmm I don't know me and the wife need to think about it, we're gonna go get lunch and maybe we'll come back
>WELL NO NEED TO GO ANYWHERE LUNCH IS ON US PLS DON'T GO

Salesbro says it's working pretty well.

You can try and say 'I'm interested in ordering this car at this price, please let me know if you can help me with this as I have my financing set up and am ready to buy.' or something along those lines, worst case scenario is they say 'Sorry, can't help you.'
>>
>>14867282

Well it's a work friend, he didn't consult me first. FWIW he's really happy with it, loves the car and doesn't seem to mind spending as much on his car payment as he does for housing.

Okay maybe you guys can help me out. I'm looking to buy a Mustang soon, and I want to custom order as I can't find one anywhere with the options I want.

As configured on the Ford website, the car I want has an MSRP of $37,385. What would be a reasonable place to start? Ask for $35k and try to settle at $36k?

Are dealers more likely to work with you if you finance through them or is it better to get a 3rd party arrangement? I have exceptional credit, but I'm young and likely won't get the best finance offers because of my age.

No problem anon, good luck m8
>>
>>14867269
one more question, what is your thought on a symposer delete?
>>
>>14867342
It's harder to negotiate using house money, so set your financing up outside of the dealership especially if it's your first car buying experience and you want to negotiate them down.

Second of all, don't custom order, just search the endless inventory of Mustangs until you find several with the options you want. This gives you way more negotiating room.

Then read the above posts we just gave to Challenger anon in the exact same situation as you are and apply all of that to your situation (except there should be endless Mustang inventory with the options you want).

Finally, buy a used a Mustang GT because they have insane depreciation and you can get a 2015/2016 with low miles for under $30k now.
>>
>>14867353
Some charge pipes delete the symposer for you, it's basically just a ukulele for engine noise, it's not artificial but some people are annoyed by it. I haven't deleted mine and the cabin is a bit loud with the combination of exhaust sound and symposer, but not anything ridiculous. It doesn't add or remove any power so it's just a personal preference thing.
>>
>>14867361

But the dealership gets kickbacks for setting up financing with their in-house lender or with banks, so you can get a better price if they're making some money on the back end.
>>
>>14867018
I used to work on an M4 that was owned by a 19 year old Turkish kid who only drove it because his parents wouldn't buy him a GT3 until he transferred out of community college.
>>
>>14867379
Not a ukulele I'm retarded, I meant it's a Kazoo.

>didn't wait for the new civic
Haha you goofed
>>
>>14867361
There are plenty around me that are similar enough to what I want that I could live with if it means avoiding a significant hassle with custom ordering.

I was under the impression that dealers would apply certain incentives and sell under invoice if you finance through them. Is this not the case?
>>
>>14867382
Sure, but dealers also take a loss on a vehicle in certain situations, and you should negotiate price independently of your means of financing.

>>14867399
I bought my Fiesta for under invoice with independent financing.
>>
>>14863263
Is that 10% a year?
Holee shiet the kike got you by the balls.
>>
>>14867422
invoice is a scam, invoice is literally $500 below MSRP these days
>>
>>14867300
Why burgers are so stupid.?
>>
>>14867452
Yeah that's true too, invoice on the new Fiesta was like $700 under MSRP, I think I paid about $2000 less than MSRP with all TTD included.

Yeah, it's a very tight space but there's enough room for a bigger turbo. They manage to squeeze a 2.0L in the rallyspec Fiesta's somehow.
