Which japanese car is closest to being a 911?
by this i mean:
>remained relatively unchanged in recipe over many different generations
>many high dollar modified versions or restomod versions being made
>large aftermarket with well made parts
>can be driven both daily and on track without breaking, even when modified
>rabid fanbase that goes beyond just stance and dynoqueens, actually tracks the car

From nakama esque quilted leather, alcantara wrapped consoles and RS product clusters to the legendary 6ul wheels and reproduction flyin miata turbo kits. They turn these wetnoodle shit heaps into the cars that are actually many times better than the modified miats their fathers carried them around in.
All for the grand price of $45,000

Its the same basic formula from 1993 to 2016 with a good amount of parts compatibility (EJ-Series Flat 4 Turbo in a AWD Econoshitbox Impreza)
Its unique, no other marque has that combo (Just like no one except VW/Porsche bothered with RR as much as they did with the 911/Beetle)
Large aftermarket with well made parts along with cheap shitty ones
Rabid insufferable fanbase with a good chunk of them actually tracking the cars (seriously, half of the fucking cars at local amateur motorsports events whether its HPDEs or conefagging are some kind of turbo Subaru in the Northeast)
All that's missing are the high dollar modified/restoromod versions. Though yeah, it has changed pretty dramatically over the generations its still following a basic formula and has a decent amount of parts compatibility.

Miata owners have been doing their versions of RWB or Singers for years and years. It just costs 6-10k for the whole project instead of 250k.
