What is the most automatic fun car for less than 8k?
I was looking at a golf gti or something
Manual slushbox mode is necessary
I was going to get a mr2 or 240 manual but I am currently living in SF and it is hell to drive one here (trust me I made that mistake).

IS300? Pretty sure they all have clutchless "manual" mode

That's pretty sweet actually, plus that 2JZ

if you want a lighter car than suggested above, protege 5, can be found in both manual and auto

225 HP is actually quite shit

Getting a low horsepower is not really fun on a automatic transmission, go big power if you want on auto.
You can look for a 540i, GS400, SC400.

it's not even that bad and i only go to sf occasionally (in a manual shitbox)

My advice is to stop being a pussy. When I lived in Seattle (hills and traffic are both SF tier), I daily drove a car with a manual transmission, button clutch, and aluminum flywheel.
Legacy Gt or outback xt. 5eat transmission is nice. Can be further modified for extreme performance if desired.
Plus legacy gts are usually less beat on than your normal Subaru
Ps: outback xt is just a legacy gt wagon lifted

I live in SF too and drive manual. I know its scary as fuck trying to get the car rolling in a uphill stop.
Protip: use your ebrake to stop rollback on hills
And just git gud
