So, I'm in the market for a 4-door salon, with about 10k euros to spend..

Car must meet the following criteria :
>fwd, manual
>2.0L max displacement ( 2.4 for a really good engine ) Petrol ( no diesel )
>reliability
>confort
>decent economy ( about 10-11l/100 km city is adequate )

I don't really care about performance, since I mostly do city driving.

What would you pick , to meet these criterias ?
So far I've been looking at the W203/204 C180 ( thirsty + rwd ), Audi A4 2.0tfsi ( not very reliable ), Volvo S40 ( not very reliable either ), Mazda 6 mps ( hard to find unmolested ), and the Honda Accord 2.0i-VTEC ( hard to find in general )
>>
Why the fuck fwd and why petrol if you want an econobox?
An Audi A4 B8/B7 would be decent.

Fwd because the gubment forgets to clean the snow off the road. Most rwd are in deep shit in winter.

Petrol because I do alot of city driving

Absolute bollocks.

Yeah FWD gets stuck in snow just as badly as RWD. If you want a good snow car get something AWD but i`d recommend a Mercedes or a BMW and just buy decent winter tyres, they`re not that expensive, probably around 500 euros for a nice set, you`ll never have any problems. I`ve been driving RWD cars for the last 3 winters in northern Europe, no problems at all.

Dunno about Mercedes or BMW, the 1.8L( especially the supercharged one ) is thirsty as fuck ( up to 15L/100km ), and the 2.0L petrol from BMW doesn't get much praise on reliability ... Thoughts ?
>>
why are you looking at cars like the mps mazda 6 when you don care about performance?
Just get an A4 with a smaller engine and maybe even quattro if snow matters and be happy

Most petrol cars will be thirsty for city driving, my 2.5 liter BMW gets about 12-13 liters/100km in the city. If you want economy get a 2.0 liter diesel Audi A4, VW Passat or BMW 320d, they get around 7l/100km in city.

but diesel is shit and the city because it will not realy get up to temp, which is not great obviously

Diesel is very bad for city. Short 5-10 minute trips, lots of bad traffic, not much time to heat up, not much place to rev the engine and unclog the injectors...

I would much rather have a thirstier, but less maintainance petrol, than an economical diesel with high maintainance..
