Hot hatchback thread. What's a good hot hatch that doesn't scream boy racer?
Thinking about buying an st and removing the st badging.
>>14852391
The body kit alone screams boyracer, removing the badges doesn't do shit
>>14852391
Probably a GTI or a TDI or some VAG shit.
The rear ST badge can be removed, but you'll have to black out the one in the front grill or buy a replacement grill.
>>14852391
Lol girl car
Volvo C30 T5
The sound alone is worth it.
>>14852391
Those wheels are the boyish of racers.
Stick steelies on it for maximum good taste
Suzuki Swift. It's not as hot though.
>>14852424
One of the last NA hot hatches, and the one to go for if you can't afford the Fiesta ST.
>>14852424
>>14852427
>buying a car from a manufacturer that has recently pulled all operations from the entire continent
What a fucking dumb idea.
I got my ST in black specifically because it makes it look less ricey, since the big grille and vents and stuff blend in. Nobody but car geeks really knows what it is anyway. Wheels help too, but it's hard to find ones that look good on it without making it look ricey. (I have white Sparco Terras on mine, and I love the look, but I know it kills the car's stealth and tells the world that I wish I owned a WRC car.)
It's probably a different story if you're in the UK, where the model has been around forever and has a much bigger reputation though.

I've had one for about 4 months now
negatives ive noticed is
>doors are 10 miles long
>seat belt is 10 miles behind you
>cup holders way to close to shifter, first day with the car i spilled some redbull going from 3rd to 4th
Pros
>5cyl sounds bad ass
>feels about as quick as 2004 stock wrx
>sound system is great
>interior is no frills but classy as fuck
>>14852458
>implying any of those are incorrect

Would legit buy if I lived in a warmer country
>>14852457
In North America it is boyracer supreme, everyone thinks you're a giant fucking fag if you're a guy driving one of those things. Same goes with the BRZ and FRS, tryhard faggot cars for little boys who couldn't afford an M5/S4.
>>14852458
butthurt yurocuck detected
face it, nobody cares about you
you're literally irrelevant

Mine's in black too. It gets dirty so easily desu. I did want it in Blue, but I'm happy enough with Black.
>>14852542
I thought that was how you liked it...dirty and black.

But the M5/S4 are tryhard faggot cars for middle age little boys who couldn't afford/find the space for a DD and a weekend car.
>>14853249
No, they're commuter cars for rich guys who don't want to put the mileage on their LaFerraris.

Mk7 gti. They are selling for $5k under MSRP right now in the USA due to dieselgate.

Volvo c30 is the only hatchback besides the GTI that doesn't look boy racer
>>14852462
Same here. Got mine a few weeks ago. A pre face lift model
My only problem with how it drives is that it loses a bit of the torque in the top end
Kinda want to swap for a bigger turbo to get more power on high rpm but dat torque on low rpm is just too much fun

Volvo don't make hot hatches.

Grande Punto Abarth (since the Punto Evo looks a bit more aggressive) without stripes.

Who the hell would compare an M5 to a Fiesta ST? Maybe an M3, but even that's much bigger.
Personally, I bought it because I like the convenience of a compact hatchback when driving and parking in the city, but almost all of the other ones out there are totally gutless and have barebones interiors. The only alternatives would have been the Abarth 500 or the Mini, and I wanted back seats and enough space to fit skis in the car. (Which I can do in the ST with only the rear seats folded, and still have plenty of legroom for a passenger.)
Interestingly enough, BMW guys love the ST for some reason. I used to work at a BMW tuning shop, and when I'd park it out front customers would ask me about it all the time, want to sit in it or get a ride, etc. It drove my boss crazy that people would ignore his souped-up M3 parked right next to it and get all excited about the Fiesta.

>>14853419
It is on the same platform as Golf, but I wouldn't say it is a hot hatch. It is too big. It's a family car here in Europe. It's almost the size of my 2004 Mazda6.
But a Mazda3 MPS/Mazdaspeed3 is a great HH
>>14856010
I have experienced exactly this. there are a lot of bmw drivers at my office and my fiesta st gets a lot of interest from coworkers. I drive it like a grandma if I'm not auto crossing.
>>14857511
Yeah, I do too, but replace autocross with trackdays.
I used to hoon it in the canyons a lot, but I fucked up, clipped a guardrail, and had to replace pretty much my whole front right suspension and fender. I'd already been getting pretty sick of canyon bullshit after 10+ years of going all the time, and that was the last straw.
I was drunk and thought about how cool it would be if honda had a Fit Si. Or even if acura had took a fit and gave it a turbo and awd
>>14857835
That would actually be really cool. I've been saying for years that a Fit with a K20 would be awesome. Sadly, Honda seems to have lost its soul, and just makes mildly warmed up versions of Civics and a single ridiculous version that's only good at setting lap times and isn't any fun to drive.
The thing I always wanted was a Mazdaspeed 2. I had a lightly modded Mazda2 before my FiST, and bought the Ford specifically because it was the closest thing to the 2 but with decent power, a non-shit interior, and a decent aftermarket.
>>14854351
Muh dick
Are 5 doors really still considered hatch? Or does it move to wagon territory?
>>14855881
M135i?
>dat straight-six RWD
Get them before BMW replaces them with a shitty MINI-derived FWD shitbox.
>>14856620
I had a 2012 speed 3 for 3 years and loved the car. Last month traded it in for a 2015 mustang GT performance pack. I could fit a 70 inch tv flat in the hatch with the rear seats down. Got 27mpg and would pull like a MF especially on the highway. Had a hypertech tune and Injen intake. Car was a 8/10. Lost style points and really no "luxury" leather/nav/heated seats
>>14852409
>>14852462
I love these cars, I think the styling and the engine are amazing, but theres no manuals for sale near me. Would you two recommend the auto over the manual or vice versa?
>>14852409
Fuck you. Now i want one.
>>14858598
A wagon could be a 3 door but usually aren't. The difference is rear overhang.
