On in a dark environment, which is unfortunately most times since my "neighborhood" is out in the sticks and there aren't any fucking streetlights.
Also I enjoy seeing things and the visibility the provide whene it comes to other drivers knowing I'm there.
I don't even know HOW to use my fog lights. There's parking lights and full lights in mah beater, that's it.

That said, I live out in the country with lots of deer. I use them out here because they help light up the edges where the hoofed rats lurk. I'm normally high beams, but when other traffic approaches it's low beams+fogs.

Can you? Sure, as long as it's allowed by local laws. Should you? Well, you look autistic and since fog lights are not supposed to be on all the time you will blow them out and have to spend the $40 to replace them. Not worth it, I know from experience.
If there's fog I turn them off. Otherwise I keep them on all the time to look JDM tyte.

I pulled the fuse on my DRL so during the day my turn signals just light up half way, no headlight light.
If it's raining, or it's getting a bit dark I run both my headlights and my fogs which are hid.

Not him, but my switch isn't a conventional toggle (press it and it returns to its original position, but the light stays on) and it turns off when you turn the key off or press it again. Same for the rear defrost and cruise control buttons.
I have tinted headlights so I turn on my fogs at night. Only time I ever use them. If it's light out and their is no need for the headlights i don't use the fogs. Only use them at the same time.

I don't have fogs on my AE86 to be contrarian and distance myself from the JDM crowd. I also have $10 Sylvania headlights I bought at O'Reillys. They light up next to nothing but I feel that more accurately emulates the 80s.

Fogs are fucking useless. The only thing they're good at is when they turn on automatically on the side you're tuning to.

Fog lights always look stupid. One is always brighter than the other. Sometimes one is burned out. Biggest waste of money option. I don't even use them in the fog...utterly useless.
My dad used to work at a Chevrolet dealership in the 90's.
One day they got a Cadillac in with shattered fog lights. The elderly owner liked driving with the fog lights on all the time. Then a guy kicked the shit out of the lights in a parking lot while screaming at the owner, "IT'S NOT FOGGY OUT YOU FUCKING RETARD!"
It fucked up the bumper too, cost like $500 to fix the car.

When it's rainy and the road is shiny, having lights a foot off the ground reflects to be like 5x brighter than it actually is in your eyes.
Imagine having a mirror under the dip beams to direct all the downward light up into your face.

I never understood the point of fog lights in some states likeFlorida. Never gets foggy over here and the one or two days it does everyone does the logicak thing by slowing the fuck down. And everyone complaining here is complaining about that one asshole that has his pointed upward not downward.
Id rather have those lights you replace them with that create like a 170 degree area of light on the ground so turning left and right becomes easier to see at night.
