You overfill too much and your oil States to foam, which causes air bubbles to enter the pulling system and wears out your surfaces right quick

those are guidelines and even on their site, they call it the "severe service drain interval", meaning that the 15,000 mile mark, assuming the car is running perfectly and the fuel doesn't have any impurities, is the maximum distance they guarantee the oil is good for
you're still playing with fire if you think that you can reach 15,000 miles without an oil change

I did a 7,500 mile oil change when the car's "oil monitor" still said it had 7,500 to go on the engine oil. When I changed the oil, I took a sample and sent it to blackstone labs for analysis, results came back positive as the oil still contained detergents, additives and was in good condition.

After that I decided to go until the car told me to change the oil. Well 16k miles later, I changed the oil and sent another sample and although the oil was considerably more deteriorated, it still had detergents, additives and the lubricity required for normal operation. No abnormal readings that would indicate bearing failure or otherwise.

So now I only change my oil when I either: reach 15-16k miles or when the car tells me to do it, since the car monitors your behavior when driving, it can tell how hard the engine is being abused and cut the oil interval short. I mostly drive highway so my engine hardly sees any abuse.

TL;DR: Tested the 15k mile oil change with oil samples and proved the oil was still good at 16k miles later.

3750 miles for 6 cylinder

So does Mobil 1 but the guarantee is only good if you use a mobile 1 filter paired with extended performance oil.

And in the fine print it says

"Mobile 1 and it's affiliates not responsible for severe engine damage resulting if vehicle or vehicles engine components are severely worn due to but not limited to; lack of maintenance, hard driving conditions, towing for long periods of time. Etc " blah blah you get the idea amsoil has the same fine print.

Also I use oem fluids in my cars I don't believe in spending extra money on the same exact product even if it "meets or exceeds Oem standards"

What does the engine being interference have to do with oil change intervals?
Honda recommends 5k intervals for "extreme driving conditions" and 7k for regular according to my accord manual.

>Michelin is garbage
Other than that it sounds like your on top of things.

Helpful guide:

A1 service is oil change tire rotation multi point inspection and brake inspection
B1 is the same as A1 but you check and inflate spare tire.

Basically any "A" or "B" is an oil change followed by an optional number. Here it is as follows:
1: tire rotation and multi point inspection
2: replace engine and filter and dust/pollen filter inspect drive belt system
3: replace transmission fluid and transfer case fluid (4wd models only)
4: spark plugs valve adjustment inspect water pump and timing belt (usually needs replacing)
5: replace engine coolant
6: replace rear differential fluid.

Just go off that, and from what I'm reading online, people are going 6-7k before the oil life monitor starts dipping into the teens.

The engineers designed this oil life system, not some tech who works in a garage doing oil changes who goes off a hunch or opinion with no technical data to back it up.

Yes they do. I drive a 2015 Honda civic and currently my oil life is 30%
It will tell you your car needs service at 15%

Basically they want you to change it at 15% oil life
Went 5900 miles once and my oil life was 50% when I first got it but that was when I had Honda "break in oil" in it. The oil was dark and I argued with the service advisor to change it because I don't like going that far on an oil change. This was before I worked at Honda. Cool you follow the owners manual like the Bible for service intervals I'm happy for you.

My training is every 5k miles or 6 months with Honda.

I have worked their 8 months

Your constant effort to prove a point in your owners manual was not needed

Once again I don't know why it says 7k in your owners manual or 7500 in my integras owners manual

Probably because everything used 5w30 back then.

Good luck in your religious views on service intervals
>>
>>14846485
Why does weight of the oil come into play?
Thicker oil lasts longer?
Says who?
I'd worry more about viscosity spread, larger viscosity spreads tend to be more fragile due to all the modifiers it takes to attain a large spread, those modifiers wear out quickly and the oil degrades.

Honda gives you a flat 5k to keep their asses safe and make sure nothing goes wrong, cheaper to replace some oil than to get sued.
>>

In the year 2000 I was 7 years old so back then I couldn't give you an answer and 16 years later I still don't know why your owners manual says 7k.

Let me ask our 63 year old master tech tomorrow and I'll get back to you on that.

If you think 5k is Honda's way of covering their asses then maybe you shouldn't change it every 7k miles because chances are that accord is in less than decent shape with more than 150K miles on it and if by chance the engine fails because you decided to change it every 7k I hope you know nothing is covered by any warranty

Mobil-1 is honestly not the best oil anymore. Check out Pennzoil Platinum and Ultra Platinum, normally rated for 7500 mi or a year. Ultra platinum can hit 10k mi.
>>
>>14846571
I'm a HUGE fan of the Pennzoil platinum series.

Really good oil
>>
>>14846594
I used to be straight Castrol at first. For a while up until 2012, Mobil-1 was the leading in synthetics. But they never spent the time to develop research further. Pennzoil used to be middle grade below Castrol, but they suddenly sprung up way ahead of the game. Even their Yellow bottle conventional and HM is proven to be one of the top oils. I switched from Castrol to Pennzoil HM and my engine ticks less on 5w-30. I still wouldn't push past 3500mi per oil change on HM but its a damn better deal then Castrol/Valvoline/Quaker State.
>>
>>14846611
You sound like my nigga.

I definitely agree with you whole heartily

I used to put Pennzoil hm in all of my older Honda's since they used 5w30 and it just performed way better I too changed it atleast 3500 miles when castrol magnatec came out I ran that a bit but switched back to Pennzoil I had the absolute worst results with Valvoline oil. Fucking black oil after 2k miles never again. Plus Pennzoil high mileage is in a stylish copper bottle filled with engine loving additives and goodness for increased longevity and for 16.47$ usd it's not bad at all

Fuck valvoline completely. Their water-weight recycled oil will fuck your engine up if you dare drive past 1k or 2 months. Shitty additives, shitty weight stability, and just bad. Where I live 5 quarts of HM is $22. Not too bad either. You should try doing a lab-analysis next oil change and see how much HM slows down the wear and tear of your internals.

>>14846633
Mobil 1 isn't bad either, but most the time it's more expensive than Pennzoil Platinum with less performance. It boils down to whatever you can get on sale at best.

Pennzoil and Mobil are both top tier oils, so just get whatever you can find that's cheaper or on a sale. I live in Nevada where Mobil 1 is normally $35 and Platinum is $29, so when my friends need an oil change and have a car that needs full synthetic, I normally pair them with Pennzoil Platinum and Mobil-1 filter. On a couple of occasions I've pre-ordered them Ultra Platinum, which you can only find in wholesale/online/Jiffy lube. Ultra platinum is pretty much the most cleanest and well-refined synthetic oil for use in normal engines. Next step up would be racing shit like Amsoil and Royal Purple, but that's not something you wanna use in a DD.

Jeans rarely need to get washed truthfully. Unless they are visibly dirty or you wore them in a lake

They chaff muh uncut dick.

When I used to wear undies they would slide the foreskin off just a little and my weiner would rub against them, no good.

Luckily the garage owner was a total bro and hooked me up with a free oil change, air filter, oil filter and valve cover seal.

Or they don't care. I've been wearing the same polo to work for 2 weeks with different T's under it. Nobody gives a damn

Thing runs smooth and never misses a beat, gave her a service and a bit of touch up on the bodykit here and there but for some reason it works perfectly when it shouldn't with how much he thrashed it when i was younger and he first got it.

I don't know what the fuck to do, I know a bad serpentine, CV Joint, Wheel Beerings.

But I'm fucking clueless on engine knock noise varieties. I really don't want to hear it's a fucked rod or some shit.

They have a 25k mile one but even the rep I spoke with said do 5k then send it in for a rest and go from there. On E85 he told me have it tested at 2.5k.

I own a Boxster so I know where your coming from. The Boxster holds 10 Liters of oil and has a big ass Bosch filters. Back in the day when they wrote that 15k change interval, the recommended Mobil 1 oil wasn't actually shit. It was good oil and because of the M96's capacity and oil arrangement, the 15k interval was acceptable.

Nowadays, I wouldn't run Mobil 1 at all and would most definitely change my oil at 10k miles. It's just that added security for me.

Also a fun fact. The Porsche rated spark plug change interval is like 50k miles or something but I have to change them at least every 15k.

My uncle got a new jag. My earliest memory of a car is sitting in my parents broken cadillac in the dead of winter with a busted heater, going to go pick him up and push the jag to the corner shop

If you use copper plusg 15k is normal. You need iridium.

> you're still playing with fire if you think that you can reach 15,000 miles without an oil change

Lots of cars can go that long and longer without an oil change. How good it is for the car is another story. I know motherfuckers who drive for years without an oil change.
>>
I put in amsoil 15k oil and swap the filter after 7.5. We good. Car runs better than yours because toyota.

I always use 92 or higher, usually 92 since the minimum requirement is 91. I usually drive highway with some city, I definitely don't granny the car but I don't red line it every drive, it's a 6 speed so I like to have fun with it.

When I first got my nitrous kit I wired the solenoid in reverse so the kit/line/bottle was positively charged and sparking against the chassis so I lost that braided line and bought a replacement all fixed now swapped the wires on the solenoid
