What should I get for my first car? Im still a teenager and im gonna be using it for my daily to school and work. I have 6k right now and I want a quick and fast car plus something I can work and learn on I really like German cars like bmw's or VW but also like Japanese cars like Subaru's or Acura's. I was also thinking about a Nissan or miata.

My car was an rx7.
Much better and more reliable than any BMW.

are you retards even trying? lmao
My first 2 cars were e36's, excellent for a first car, decent handling, easy to work on, lots of cheap parts available etc. Good base to learn proper rwd handling on as well. Just dont get a rusted piece of shit
>>
>>14842839
Porsche 944, can usually be found for cheap and it's an awesome mid engine sports car. Plus German build quality.
>>
>>14842839
Get a civic and spend the rest on those shitty mods I know your dumb ass wants.

FIRST CAR IS MARKED FOR DEATH. GET A SHITBOX, NOT WHAT YOU ACTUALLY WANT.
>>
>>14842842
Living the Corolla life right now. Loving it.
>>
>>14842839

Find a chevy Corsica with a 3.1 in it and keep it clean. I drove one around for 3 years. It was quick enough for me at the time, reliable as hell, and had a full backseat. Was also damn good in the snow even before I learned how to drive in the snow.

Na/nb miata. Try to get the 1.8l

dont get a bmw, parts are really expensive. they are simple to work on, but again. parts are double the cost of pretty much anything else.

This is true get like a shit box, unless you like wrenching, then be prepares to have all your weekends and paychecks go to parts and repair.
>>
>>14843070
Frig off David.
>>
>>14843738
BMW parts are about the same as Subaru parts.

Subaru parts are %10 more than Honda and Toyota parts.

With BMW occasionaly you run across something that leaves you wondering why it costs $50 but the majority of the prices are reasonable.

this desu sempai
e36 is a great first bmw since if you get a later model 328. it's probably one of the most reliable cars they have ever made. just replace the plastic cooling system bits and you're fine for a while.
parts are cheap as fuck
expertise and tutorials are absolutely everywhere for everything
massive online community
really quite easy to wrench on for a bmw, and i like how their styling is perfectly 90s and while it looks dated, it looks good dated instead of bad dated

this is fucking wrong

Just buy a Honda Civic
>>
>>14842839
Get a subaru. Avoid the wrx, they are all either ridiculously overpriced for what they are or beat to hell. Get a base impreza or legacy to learn on. I'd suggest a legacy gt but its hard to find one at that price point in decent condition. Still better than a wrx though
>>
>>14842885
>My car was an rx7

HJAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>
>>14846097

I've been looking at the e46 recently for my next car. I really love BMW's. Mercedes always look so serious, and audis look like girls cars. Beamers always look fun and stylish.
>>
>>14847533
e46 is a good bit more money and time to maintain than an e36 though, although its more refined without losing its edge
you should drive examples of both to form a proper opinion
>>
>>14847569
is it pretty much impossible to find the '98 M3 E36? Freedomfag here.
>>
>>14847596
not sure desu, i'd say just get a mint 98 328is for half the price or less of a clean e36 m3

For that price look for an H6 Outback, MY00-04. They should be in your price range and are totally bulletproof, have enough power for a first car, and will handle anything you throw at them.
