What is this, /o/?
I pass by it on my way to work and think it's cool as hell, but I don't know jack shit about cars (hell, I don't even own one).
It has no name or anything on it.

Pretty sure that's a chevy Vega. Early 70s model. I could be wrong, phone is about to die and screen is hella dim

It's a Chevrolet Vega with an airdam.
>>
a vega. they were notorious for literally snapping entirely in half when driving over railroad tracks

Three say Vega, one says Camaro.

Guess the Vegas have it.
Is that an expensive car? Is it any good? I really like the look of it.
>>
>>14828958
Oh jesus... well, fuck.
Uh, ok, that's awful.
>>
>>14828968
I believe he is reversing to rust issues. A solid car like that will be structurally fine. But the I4 engine in them is widely regarded as one of the worst engines ever made.
>>
>>14828960
>>14828968
That's overblown. Don't worry about it.

They're cheap as fuck, though. Unless you're trying to buy a Cosworth (lel good luck), they're just an average 70s compact car. They're not boomer fetish fuel like the Camaro.

Here's one in my area.

maybe, but i remember either watching a video or reading about how a few owners bought them new in the 70's and had them snap in half when driving over a railroad or something rough. there's always the ford maverick though as a more reliable/less shitty alternative

MONZA SPYDER FOLKS

I'm gonna buy one and put a 350 in it

dude monza's are the shit, better than same year corvettes in every way
>>
>>14828960
It's a Vega. They started as little 4 cylinder shitboxes but a lot of people put V8s in them since they're light and go racing. That's a good find to see one in the wild. They're not too expensive if you find a stick model but they're boomer taxed on swapped ones. Oh and Cosworth made a limited amount of then with mechanically injected 4 bangers
>>
>>14829053
Monza is GOAT. I've been trying to find a 305 4 barrel 4 speed since the roadkill Monza episode
>>
>>14829084
What's a non shit, stock, smaller muscle car like this? Someone said a Monza is good. Someone else said the Ford Maverick.
Any others?
These 70's cars look bad ass.
>>
>>14829096
Monza
Maverick
Vega
Pinto (kinda)
Gremlin X
AMC Eagle sx4 (kinda)
4th generation nova (but that might be a little big for what you're looking for)
Chevy Citation (kinda)
Chevy chevette (if you swap it)
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
>>
>>14828907
Definitely a Vega. My neighbor had one.
>>
>>14828907
Gorgeous cars. Horrible engines.
>>
>>14828907

Fuck, thats shit hot. All the muscle car styling in something thats actually a reasonable size. Gimme one of those with a turbo 6. What sorta cash are they worth americunts?

It's a V8. It is MEANT TO BE a V8. Putting a turbo V6 in a muscle car is like punching a hole in the Mona Lisa by trying to insert your penis into her mouth.

About 5 grand and up depending on whats done to it

The last one is a Cosworth Vega. DOHC and mechanical injection in a 1970s American shitbox
>>
>>14829877
They came with 4 cylinders from the factory so they were never muscle cars to begin with, V8 swaps were just a common mod. Personally, I think a turbo 4.3 v6 alá rotsun would be dank

>>14829877

Fuck an 8 in something that size. Lightweight turbo 4 or 6 and beef up the suspension to make it corner

What about a Rover V8?

Or since it's a GM product, the actual Buick 215?

Interesting. Ive wanted a big american project for a long time but i just cant justify spending 10-20k just for a rolling shell for something like a camaro or challenger. <10k shipped for a complete car aint bad.

DO NOT BUY A COSWORTH AND SWAP A V8 IN IT. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE IF ALL THAT IS HOLY

That cossy is fuckin clean, goddamn.
>>
>>14829929

Id never buy something rare or special and ruin it. Especially if engine swaps are on the agenda.
>>
>>14828958
I owned one of these back in the day... got hit by a bulldozer (long story) which cut the front of the car off just ahead of the firewall.... any other car would have been pushed a few feet but remained in one piece. Not sorry to see that car go.

I got a vega Cosworth with out the motor for $600. It's kinda rough. I did s10 front brakes and a rear disc conversation, this also gave me 5 lug hubs. Factory rear end is a 3.73 posi. And it's getting a carbed and cammed Chevy 4.3, about 300hp and bolted up to the factory 4speed.

Probably still rusted out and has warped heads.

A buddy of mine had one that was about 10 years old when we were in high school. POS. Even he called it a POS.
