Hey guys I sold a two of my cars and now I'm planing to get a base corvette with the z51 package for 61k.
Putting 20% downpayment and finance the rest for 780 monthly payment for 72 months. I check the Shelby gt350 but ford dealers are putting a 10k markup on them. So the cheapest one is goin to be 68k.
Is the corvette a good choice? It got super car performance

Corvettes are good sports cars, memes aside.
But I'd be awful tempted to wait and see if I could afford the new Grand Sport, if I had new Corvette money right now.

dude you are obviously trying to live beyond your means
considering how a 72 month loan term is twice as long as the average auto loan term
the insurance would cost around the same as the monthly payment
Vettes are fine, ignoring the memes.
But I'd just buy a used CTS-V or C6Z06
Less money and faster

The average loan term is definitely not 36 months, I can assure you.

If you have to finance something other than a house or a degree for six years you can't afford it. Have you even looked at the cost of insurance, your maintenance costs once your warranty is up halfway through your loan?

OP please listen to these guys before u become a LPG thread
Vettes are nice cars, overrated certainly but not nearly as much as Ferraris are. Still an awesome car to drive coming from someone who just did 7 laps on a track in one. Has some weird handling quirks, handles much better when accelerating than not, it REALLY likes to pull itself out of turns and provide stability when you do. It has a ton of torque and is very back heavy. It's a difficult car to get used to but once you do, you can use it to your advantage. They make excellent drifters as a result compared to a Ferrari.

>780 monthly payment for 72 months

I crunched the numbers, and assuming a $48k loan, his rate will be in the neighborhood of 5.4%. Which means he's paying 32.4% in interest for the duration of the loan, or almost $16k. So it's a $76k Corvette.
If it takes you SIX FUCKING YEARS to pay off that car then you can't afford it. Holy shit, there is no way I would consider being in debt for six years over some car.

Thats the massive aero at work. Gotta treat it more like an F1 car.

>6 years
the c8 is going to be much better than the c7 and c7 is going to depreciate like a motherfucker
Why not settle for a c6 z06 instead so you're literally not trapped in for that long? Your insurance is gonna be a 250-300 and your payments at the end of the term is gonna be huge you'll overpay like a mother fucker.

Or just wait until 2017 and snatch up a SS Camaro from this year for ~$40k and have a much more reasonable monthly payment and a car that's effectively as fast as the Z51.
