They are going under fast bros. I'm gonna miss the V8s. Thanks to fucking Tesla.
>>
the V6 is better

literally who cares other than luddites who cant afford it
>>
Thank fuck, V8s are lazy, sluggish and sound disgusting.
>>
>V6 sports cars?
>What went wrong?

Fuel economy went wrong.

Easier insurance vs V8 /less tax if your in a country where larger displacement is on the verge of being illegal went wrong.

Emissions went wrong.

Easier packaging for V6 vs Sraight Six went wrong.

Being "Eco" and "Green" went wrong.
>>
>>14825771
I'll keep my i6 and v8s over shitty v6s

I can't believe this manlet is defending ford.
Is the world going insane?

fuck off cuck
>>
nothing wrong with v6's
>>
But how reliable is the engine going to be? A 3.5 V6 twin turboed to 650hp? That shit won't last long at all

managed it with the XJ220, and the metro 6r4's it took the engine from coped fine in rallycross with it
>>
>>14826270
It's literally an endurance racing engine. Reliability is one of its most important targets.
>>
>>14826270
you are a retard

they need to start treating V6 like an option and less like a penalty

yes, we know what 'true' driving purists would pick (but even that's largely subjective when faced with decisions between low displacement turbos and large displacement v8s)

but stop putting shitass economy car engines in the base model sports cars, forever cursing that trim to the realm of poor people, posers, and women

i know, they want to push prospective buyers to more expensive trims, but it seems silly to dilute the credibility of a vehicle you make for the sake of marketing. think about it. when you see a mustang or camaro, your first thought isn't "NICE CAR!" it's "i wonder if that's a fucking V6 with an exhaust and glued on badging"

they have permanently devalued the brands themselves.
>>
>/o/ slobs ALL OVER the GT-R with a FUCKING V6

>WHY IS V6 SO BAD HURR DURR

Kill yourselves.
>>
>>14826577
All this shitposting is coming from GM fangirls. They're obviously just pissed chevy didn't create one of the best looking cars of all time.
>>
A V6 is plenty power. Hell, an i4 can make more than enough power to make you jet across the landscape, it all depends on the frame you mount it on. Some pigfat muscle car is not what you should be using if you need to downsize in the first place.
>>
>>14826659

I dunno, a healthy k20a2 with a proper twin-scroll setup can deal with over 400whp on a conservative tune that isn't a ticking hand grenade, and that would be plenty in a heavier car as long as 1st gear is short enough to get rolling, or it's automatic.
>>
>>14826683
Yeah but you could just stick that into a smaller package (PONTIAC FIERO HINT HINT) and woo nelly suddenly you're getting into supercar territory.

who needs a V8?

inline 8 get gud
>>
>>14826701
Or you could have an automatic v8 and be able to light the tires just by pressing the throttle from a stop. A heavy car with no torque is hell to drive. Easy to stall.
>>
>>14826719
Which is why I am against heavy cars that don't need to haul.
>>
>>14826621
It's funny. When the faggot fanboys cop it from a Nissan and now a BMW, they resort to picking on other domestics.
Pretty sad IMHO
>>
>>14825737
Aspirated V6 a shit, built to cater to wusses who couldn't handle the V8.
>>
>>14825774
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhhhhahahahahahahahahabhahahahahababahahahahah............ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
>>
>>14826716
the inline 8s in their time were not a particularly efficient engine, power wise. the intake manifold was to long, so the inside cylinders always ran rich and the outside very lean. l-6s tend to have had the same issue. however, the i-6 is still very common and the i-8 isnt. which is sad, id love to see a big inline 8 cylinder powered land barge with a fuel injected and modernized l-8. unfortunately, that will never happen due to the packaging issues that show up when your engine is 30 feet long.

care to point out some non-aspirated engines? oh, wait. your a dumbass.

Ford decided to imitate euro and chink auto industries and this is the sad result.

ftfy
>>
>>14827584
perhaps now ford will be as fast as their european and japanese counterparts
>>
>>14825737
The new GT is a racecar. The displacement limit for boosted racecars in its class is 4.0L. Ford had a proven 3.5TT engine, so they used it. Big whoop.

>buying a sports car for fuel economy
Does your parent happen to be siblings?
>>
I'm happy with my twin turbo v6, thing makes 360ish hp and gets my boat of a taurus moving. Not really sure what that thing would be like with a v8 in it since it's already so fucking heavy, in this case I think the v6 was smart
>>
>>14831118
I think ditching the Taurus would be smarter.
>>
>>14825737
they need 60 or 120 deg offset
but are better for turbocharger than other arrangements
