The Fastest Ever Drift.

Nissan has set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the fastest drift using the specially tuned MY16 Nissan GT-R by entering a drift at a speed of 304.96 km/hr. Masato Kawabata, the Japanese drift champion series, set the new world record to clinch the top spot from former record holder Jakub Przygoński of Poland. The drift attempt was held during a special event that took place at Fujairah International Airport, UAE.

Holy shit balls I can't get to 180 in a straight line

I doubt you're driving anything with four-digit horses, so it's to be expected
>>
>tuna car

Who gives a shit?

The ACR of the GTR world.

>one-off
>specially tuned for pointless stupid stunt
>of something regular racecars did in the 70s and 80s in any long-straight-race.
>same as ACR

No.

How can GM even compete?
>>
>>14824933
What 70s/80s car was drifting at 300+ kmph?
>>
>>14825025
I think he meant straight line speed
>>
>>14825041
But the record in question isn't about straight line speed, it's about a stable drift at high speed.
>>
>>14824918
Dude, this thing is not very similar to the normal gtr. It doesnt even have the same displacement and it is RWD instead of AWD.
>>
>>14825041
I'm willing to bet money on the fact that Can-Am and possibly Group 4/DRM/ cars were sideways at high speeds constantly.
Incomparably more difficult to drive those cars at high speeds than this modern tech perfectly set up block of uninteresting.
On an airfield, to boot. Why even bother?
>>
>>14825064

I very much doubt they even touched 250 when they kicked the back out.
>>
It's literally nothing - the challenge should be the maximum speed at which the car can exit a corner of a particular angle within a particular lane width
>>
>>14824456

Yep, it drifted. On a straight line.

Will it be able to do that in a corner some day ?
