I need your advice /o/
I'm looking to buy my first car. After saving for a while I have 4k€ and I wanted to know if I should go with the 318i.
There are a few in my area (I live in Portugal) that are within my budget. All from '99/'00, Between 135k to 200k KM (84k - 125k Miles).
All manual.
Is this a good choice? Should I go for something else for this price?
If I go for the 318i, what should I look out for when checking the car/ test driving?

For 4k you can import something much nicer from Germany, like a facelift 330 diesel or 325i

idk how much it is in Portugal but it costs about 360 euros to register a foreign car above 2.0 liters in my country,

I'll have to look it up, if it's around that then it's manageable. How would I go about importing a car form Germany though? Do i just go to a web dealership or something similar?

So I just simulated the costs of registering a 325i. If it costs 4k, after all the legal bs and taxes and registering it, it will come to a total of 10905€ ... So definitely out of the question. :/
Anyone else have a suggestion/opinion?
e39 520 would be my suggestion, much better, it's a 5 series, last real bmw imo
