Yeah OP right here with you, I don't have to co centrate on traffic as much anymore and I can basically just release myself from all the old boring points that "enthusiastic" driving used to be, hell, I love how my car feels like a scooter now, no more driving a "car" for me, no sir. I don't have a problem with manual I just hate the effort. Automatics you don't have to do shit and my wife can drive my car without me worrying she might blow through a clutch and accidently kill herself. Its really more of a safety thing for me since I don't really think many people my age know how to drive manual I was taught by a driving instructor for 3 or 4 months since the vehicle was manual.

Really... Look at the kind of cars Europe sells in Auto vs the US. It's the polar opposite. US sells fun cars in manual whereas your more expensive and performance vehicles are vastly automatic.

I am a 20 year old poorfag European doing a shit job and I`ve owned 8 cars, 3 of them had automatics. Really it depends on the vehicle type. A newer BMW 5 or 7 series simply does not need a manual transmission, it is pointless to drive a big, heavy car with a manual trans with very few exceptions.
I`ve owned an automatic Audi A4 2.5 tdi, currently own an automatic 2004 Mercedes E class 2.7 diesel and an automatic 2003 BMW 7 series. The Audi could have used a manual trans becase it was a boring car overall but I see no point in why my E class or 7er would need a manual trans.
I also have a BMW E46 325i with a manual transmission, it`s quite fun to drive, I`d never buy an automatic E46.
