Is this the fast public depreciation car ever?

Chevy Aveo takes that cake. I saw them going for 3k in 2012.

Any car that is used by rental fleets tends to depreciate wildly.

A 5 year old Kia Rio would only cost you less than 5000 dollars.

Did the Mazda 3 really depreciate that hard?

It's like you are blissfully unaware that it will not be 3 years old and in perfect condition for much longer.

Statistically, the worst luxury cars depreciate the fastest because they start off so high and then fall down to economy car level because non one wants them. The Hyundai Genesis is the worst, falling over $15,000 in the first year.

Well, it is logical.
If a luxury car costs say 100k, and you tried to sell used at 90k, the only people who could afford that could as easily afford to get a new one.

The new Genesis isn't half bad, according to reviews.
And hell, they got Lotus to tune the suspension. The thing actually drives well now.
