It already did.
If Tesla had the manufacturing capacity it would outsell every manufacturer 10 to 1 easily.

Get on with the times grandpa.

But a HUD is real...

Yeah.... i bet you wish carburetors where still around too.

A carbied car will still beat the model S around the Nürburgring.
>>
>>14801985
Oh, so car technology thats been in development for 100 years is better than one that has been in development for 10? tell me more.
>>
>>14802044
I thought Tesla was supposed to be advanced, full of tech. So advanced you can lose to a 50 year old beater on the track.
>>

Source on that? maybe it was on Elon Musk twitter and i missed it.
>>
>>14802070
Find a lap time of any track that isn't a straight line. Pro tip, you can't. That is how bad they lap.
>>
>>14801985
But if you fitted that same car with EFI it would be faster.
>>
>>14802089
No. There have been many dyno tests over the years and EFI often loses out on power to carburetion. Mechanical injection wins over all. The only reason carbies were removed from service was emmisions laws. And why many sports bikes in 2004 lost power when going from Carb to EFI.
>>
>>14802077
You still didn't answer my question, show me where anyone from Tesla claimed the Model S was a car for laping the ring.
>>
>>14802098
Nobody did. But they keep sprouting about its' acceleration, yet it can complete a full lap with any decent speed.
>>
>>14802104
Can't*
>>
>>14802095
>muh power
EFI gives you precise control allowing you set up a car for a particular circuit based on real time data.
There's a reason every form high level motorsport uses it
>inb4 nhra
>>
>>14802122
Most racing is at either WOT or nothing, and Mechanical injection, and carburetion is still used over EFI in racing all over the world. People who sprout about carbies not offering precise control know nothing of them.

On another note motorsport is very restricted at high levels. That is why so many series are a boring procession with a predictable outcome.

It's everything else I'm worried about. Our electricity grid is already stretched in many places we see rolling blackouts or brownouts through the year due to insufficient capacity where is all the extra power going to come from to charge a quarter of a million Tesla cars given each car draws the equivalent current of 16.5 homes?

woah, dude
it's almost as if raw acceleration and competitive racing performance are two seperate things

I was talking with a rich old guy who is some high up at ford at a local dealership and he said by 2020 pretty much every model will have huds and some sort of crash prevention system involving radar along with the whole automatic driving for drunk people or some shit like that.

Before the ICE got big, New York taxis used to be electric. I'm on mobile and I don't want to waste too much data pulling up exact dates and numbers but IIRC in the mid to late 1800s most cars were electric.

???
Nigger, electric cars were the first cars even before the infernal combustion engine was invented, and outperformed them in races up to the 20's. The only thing holding them back throughout history, consistently, was shitty battery tech. As it is today. The Tesla is just ass design-wise.
>>
>>14801765

This looks like a german "simulate shit" game.
>>
>>14804951
Yes, you uneducated retard.
Pontiac even had them on some models like the G6 in the mid 2000s. Cadillac had them as an option on certain trims in the 90s. I drove across the midwest in '95 driving a DeVille with one. Projecting the speedo onto the windshield is not new, innovative, or even high tech. It has been around forever, you tech illiterate spastic.
>>
>>14801899
To be fair, a speedometer cable is a less complicated fix than electronic fuckery.
>>
>>14810884
When was the last car with a speedo cable?
>>
>>14810884
I'll take replacing a failed sensor in the wheel wheel over treading a cable.
>>

The moped cable was actually 20 yuros and I had to dismantle half of the moped to lay it in the path its supposed to go due to lol plastic everywhere.

My Ninja 250 has a speedo cable and two carburetors and it was made in 2001.
The 2016 KLR650 still has a single cylinder, carbureted engine. Not a single computerized thing on it.
Nowadays tech like that is the exception in motorcycles, often artifacts from bikes last revamped or designed in the 80s or 90s. The KLR has been the same since 1987.

>>

>>
>>14810742
Yes but you can only accelerate hard a couple of times before it needs to cool down. Hence why pretty much any ICE car can beat it on a lap with a few turns.

How cool would it be to have holograms of random bits of information through the windshield?

For example, if you were looking for Chinese restaurants, you could tell the navigation to show all Chinese restaurants in the vicinity, and all them would show markers in virtual space through the windshield. Marked buildings hidden behind taller buildings would show markers risen high enough to be seen from behind them, like in Sly Cooper 2 and 3.
