depending on the cost of the abarth it might be more cost effective to get a base model and mod it up

I like the overall styling much better than the Miata. I think it looks better proportioned.
The turbo option really is the big thing though. The turbo gives you something that out of the box is accepting to mods that will result in actual gains.

Yeah exactly. I mean the Abarth is 170hp stock with Brembo brakes, Bilstein dampeners, mechanical LSD. That sounds like a good combo to me. Add bolt ons and some sticky tires and that thing would be a beast.

Yeah, I mean there will absolutely be aftermarket for that though. It's just a lot more appealing as a starting point than an ND that when you get bored with the power you're going to be spending $$$ going forced induction, which is absolutely going to be the case. As much fun as low power, low weight is fun it's also 2016 and 155hp with a low ceiling for mods is kinda unimpressive.
