revmatching is useful if you have synchros, you're thinking of double clutching (which can still help reduce wear, but is only necessary without synchros)

I can revmatch fine, but I can't fucking heel toe for shit.

I can't think of an explanation either. I have exceptional ankle mobility from weightliftan' and constantly doing stretches.

I can't do the 2nd method because the pedals are too far apart. And not laterally, but medially. They're pretty much as close as in that image, but the brake pedal is several inches in front of the accelerator pedal towards me. Even when braking heavy the brake doesn't get depressed enough for me to reach the accelerator without twisting my foot like in the first method. Though I don't hit the accelerator with my heel, I hit it with the side of my foot at the middle.

A revmatched downshift for me in a miata takes about 1/2 a second if not less. Heel and toeing depends on how hard im braking but it's about 3/4 a second on average.

No it doesn't. Syncros wear anyway unless you double clutch. If you don't rev match, you have to slip the clutch to match the engine speed, which wears the clutch significantly.

I'm not sure what you mean.
Most of the time I'm driving in 4th (city), and when people begin to slow down I'll rev match into 3rd and use my break from there and go to 2nd if I have to.
After that if I have to stop I'll just go to neutral since the car doesn't like going to first unless you're crawling along.
