Classic... This always happens on a stretch of 401 between Kingston and Toronto. 2 lane highway and trucks like to try and pass each other. usually ends up slowing everyone down and causing lots of cars to be stuck behind them.
Trick is to get in the right lane and give your self a bit of distance behind the right truck.
When you see an on ramp coming up you floor it and time it so that right when you get directly behind the truck you are doing about 140kph and you can change into the on ramp lane and rip past that fucking big rig... change back into driving lane and drive of.
Or you can be a hero and hit the fucking brakes and hold up the truck and let everyone else stuck behind the trucks get passed.

It's as if our entire interstate system is built for them. Yet they use GPS to drive through restricted roads and residential areas because "muh garmin told me it would save me 12 cents in diesel". I live on one of those roads. It's a tight rural road with several hairpin banked turns. But their stupid fucking GPS says it's more efficient to come past my house even though they violate the weight restrictions. And our road shoulders get all fucked up because of this.
I'd like to believe that truckers were only on the interstates, but my experience proves otherwise. They use our local roads, our state roads, our county roads, because it's a short cut somehow. And how much of that road tax money comes back to pay for our infrastructure?

I reserved a 10' U-Haul to move some furniture once and when I got there they said they didn't have it but gave me a 20' truck for the same price. Trucker here with a castrated 65mph truck. Never had this problem and am generally always polite about passing if it is needed. We're not all that bad, there's just a lot of assholes that give the industry a bad name since large carriers will hire almost anyone if they haven't killed someone(yet).
