My work had a petrol V240. I wouldn't drive it once it had 30,000 Km on it as the brakes were unreliable. Steering wheel controls stopped working and one button fell out of the steering wheel, rear left seatbelt stopped retracting and from New the engine is very underpowered and asthmatic.
While living in Laos my in laws good a Cherry J1. Cheap fit and finish though it did not have any mechanical failures until it was sold with less than 20,000 on it.
Not for me man, nup.

They had big time jobs working for a large mining company, living in Vientiane. Laos is great man and I hate south east Asia with a passion. Only place you could drunkenly stumble through the slum and feel good. I can't even do that in Aus. We were walking in the slum and got stopped by a Lao father asking if we spoke English. His son was studying English and would love someone to practice a few sentences with. So we stayed about a half hour or more drinking beers with this whole random family practising English. Awesome. Luang Prabang is awesome too.
Worst people there are the French. They treat the Lao like it's still under French control, even the happy French tourists are cunts to the Lao shop or mall owners, bartenders etc.
Now they work in the DRC (Congo). I ain't visiting that shit. Mine gets shot at, local warlords get shot by the mine... Fucked up man.
