i'm 19 and have a 97 mustang which is fun to drive. not the fastest car, not the cheapest car, but it's a mustang, it's not supposed to be the best. they're cheap too (even for the v8s like mine)
i also have a 2010 taurus sho, awd and twin turbo makes for the perfect daily driver, but that cost me like 16k usd

SW20 owner reporting in.
I got this car as my first car when I was 16, yes 16. Yes it is super fun to drive but since it is a 2seater MR, you'll be missing out on space. There is a fair trunk and a large frunk so it's not impossible to carry things like groceries. As far as snap oversteer goes, it's only real when you make it real. Simply you drive bad, it'll punish you. You drive well and this thing will become one of the best handling cheap cars you can find due to the MR setup. That being said, this car is pretty much do or die kind of fun.
I've had my fair share of snap oversteer and everytime its because of my lousy driving so don't fall into the meme. Learn how to drive it and learn to respect it's limits like any other car.
Tl;Dr it's (A LITTLE) more practical than people make it out to be and snap oversteer is a coverup term for mishandling an MR
