The CT6 and anything onward like the 8 were meant to be big and comfy not necessarily fast and harsh. its the reason they started developing their own DOHC twin turbo V8 instead of using the Corvette's V8 because they said it was too harsh for a luxury car and wanted something smoother.

The Escalade at one point was cheaper than a Suburban with all options. Both had the same features on the same platform, but why would you spend more for a top of the line Suburban when a base Escalade had all of those features and cost several grand less?
