I can't fucking stand them anymore.

Almost every new car is a fucking inline 4 or turbo'd inline 4.

The engine variety among average cars is GONE. They all sound the same, they all are tuned to "perfection" meaning smooth power delivery so linear and smooth it's almost painfully boring.

Seems like you Burgers still have tons of 6 or 8 cylinder cars around, so enjoy them as long as you can.

At this point I'd even like to see more 3 cylinders, at least they sound more eager and a little like 6 cylinders.

Don't buy a cheap as fuck shitbox made to be driven to the grocery store and back by mothers then.

I don't know what I'd do if I didn't live in burgerland; I take so much joy in hearing the roar of a 350 Chevy v8 that's cheating smog checks with a grandfathered car title. I also like the fact that I can get a bunch of scrap metal and slap whatever the hell I want together and register/insure it. Now don't you worry; I'm a careful driver. I know a bunch of people will get their panties in a bunch about what I can do here in burgerland, but you know what? It sure feels like freedom to me.
>>
>>14782891
European here, all of this can be done here too, idk what youre talking about.
>>
>>14782960
If you're rich enough, yes.
Too bad the average yuro isn't exactly rich, gotta pay for those refugees somehow.
>>
>>14780597
No matter which I4 I drive, whether it's NA or turbo, it always sounds like it's out of breath and struggling even accelerating to highway speeds. I know it's not struggling though because some of the I4 turbo cars I've driven are pretty fast, but it just sounds like it's struggling.
>>
>>14782977
It's not like we were richer before there weren't any refugees, and my country has only taken in 10 of them. And it has nothing to do with freedom. If anything, we're more free, because we can import whatever the fuck we want, unlike you guys
>>
>>14782977
It's not like the median american is particularly rich either.
>>
>>14782996
But in burgerland you don't have to be rich if you want to have a nice car.
Fuel is cheap, used cars are cheap, parts are cheap, new cars are cheap and inspections are easily passed.
>>
engine variety has never really been a thing in average cars...
>>
>>14783018
>used cars are cheap
Disagree. However, I do agree with the other points to some extent.
>>
>>14782993
Free if you have the money. Over in my freedom land, I can buy a used v8 truck for under 1k. Try doing that in Europe. You will be paying so much for that. Also factor in the insane prices of gas and Europe, and you pretty much have to be rich if you want to drive anything other than a shit mobile
>>
>>14782891
And you still can't import any car younger than 25 years.
>>
>>14783073
We have widespread LPG over here. It costs 1.62$ per gallon atm, so we're fine. I agree that v8s are much more pricey here, but we have many other interesting cars that are cheap. My dad bought a e39 525i for 1k euros recently for example

I don't agree with the other poster, but you're just as retarded 2bh. Higher end 4 cylinder cars have been able to maintain speeds around 80-100 mph without too high rpms and too much noise for quite a few years now. I think you're stuck in the past.
>>
>>14783153
Did you read what I said at all? I run a 1979 truck with a carburetor because I like doing so. I'm building a rat rod in my full-size RV garage with my brother. I don't give half a rat-rod's ass for usdm mock-up cars; keep that crap out of here!

>>
>>14783173
I didn't say 4 cylinders are necessarily loud, just more likely to be loud than an engine with more cylinders
>>
>>14783218
The only reason I would need to make a car buying decision based on 'supporting my country' is if my country's cars are not good enough to buy on their own. So why should I buy worse cars?
>>

Mexico/trailer park. same things

It's not that bad. Merc and BMW still do 6 cylinders. BMW even do them on their non-retarded cars like the 430 and 435 (Merc only does them on disgusting AMG shit).

I secured myself one of the final inline 5 Volvos. A 2014 S60. Love it.

I agree.

>I can buy a used v8 truck for under 1k.

Nobody wants a piece of shit like that in Europe. Seriously, your redneck culture simply doesn't appeal to anyone here. You're just trashy as fuck and proud of it.

I can get a shitbird inline 6 from the 90s for a grand too, what's the big fucking deal? It's a shit car.
>>
>>14780597
so let me get this straight
you hate inline 4 cylender engines because of the way they sound?

you do know that has everything to do with the piping leading from the engine
what does that even mean that an engine sounds more eager anyways?
>>
>>14783383
You keep being a little baby, I'll keep being a proud Burger. I love your 'He doesn't like the same things I do, so he must be trailer trash.' logic. I really hope that one day you'll be able to feel as happy as I do about my living situation; I wish everybody could be as happy as I am right now, but that's probably impossible.
>>
>>14783155
It's called a transmission
>>
>>14783403
Yeah, it'd be hard to drive around on your tiny little roads, I wouldn't want one in europe either. Also, it seems you didn't notice, but there's more than one person here that loves life in America. We've been talking about pretty similar joys.
>>
>>14783458
You wouldn't want to live in Europe, period. Shit's depressing, there's almost no nice cars around.
>>
>>14783458
It has nothing to do with the country. I wouldn't drive a fucking truck period. I have no need for a truck.

You boast about driving a car that cost $1k, you drive a fucking truck nigger. You drive that shit because you're POOR.
>>
>>14783469
So an old v8 truck is a nicer car than new Mercedeses, Porches, and Bentleys? What the fuck kind of logic is that?

>>
>>14780597
Why does it matter how many cylinders it has when modern 4cyls make as much or more power as veeates did 30 years ago, while getting double the MPGs (or better) and much, much fewer emissions?
>>
>>14783944
Because the cars they are put in are almost twice as heavy as the muscle cars of 30-50 years ago. I know it's because of tech and safety but more power doesn't mean shit when the car is heavy.

The engines were all 'murican

We had like three or 4 models that could be called muscle cars. In 'Murica they'd be just compact cars, but when everything else is complete dog shit you develop a liking for them. Then the oil crisis came and they were gone forever. Now everything is a 4 cylinder based on some euroturd design.

Lets not fool ourselves fellow Europoors
Building your car aka engine swapping, drivetrain improvements, etc. can be done only to a certain extent and it will boost your insurance rate to the fucking sky. The only country left with an affordable car culture is the United States.

Blame Mercedes for that.
On the plus side, it's 25 years for on road use, there are some ways to get around it for off road only vehicles. When it gets old enough, get it set up for on road and you're good to go. I know people have some kei cars via that and at least one guy with a a pretty nice Mitsubishi L300 Express 4x4 that is around 16 years old. Off road only and that is totally fine.
Thankfully the imports don't get treated as new cars and they can be however unsafe they were when new.

Take a trip down under, mate. The average Skyline owner is an Instagram-whoring JDM-tyte retard with an R33 GTS-T with ROTAs covered in stickers and lowered to the point where it hobbles over speedbumps till it commits harakiri because the guy fills it up with shitty 91 unleaded and peels out of every Maccas drive-thru.

It's no different to your local retards who gather in a carpark to vape and circlejerk each other. Just replace the 1.2l dieselboxes with falling-to-bits Jap shitboxes.
