I don't understand the appeal of this

I want a nice looking and loud classic muscle car (72 Monte Carlo bitches!!!)
Buuut... I want over 10mpg. So I'm thinking some new gears in the rear end to compensate for a 3speed tranny. If it gets 16-20 mpg on the highway, and can run 70mph with ease, I'll be happy if it tops out at 100 or takes 10 seconds to get to 60.

Btw, my truck can't do 100, 0-60 takes 10 seconds, and I get 13mpg. Gotta love a gutless 4.3... but I got a stick shift so that's nice.
