Serious question. Why does Audi still exist? What do they offer that the competitors don't? Why do people who want German luxury pick Audi cars over BMW and Mercedes cars?
They make lots of FWD cars, lots of souped up VWs, their interiors are nothing special, most of their cars look safe (I'd say boring imo but looks are subjective). Shit, even the name and logo are meh. Is their Quattro system THAT good?
>>
The quattro system actually is better than from Mercedes and the engines they use are most likely their own. The only engines they use from VW are 1.2 to 2.0litres engines I believe.

Nope. In fact, they have some of the best. Plus, they don't rattle and squeak after 5 years. My 9 year old S4 was like a vault. You gotta stop believing everything you read on the internet.
>>
>>14769156
Audi are cheaper than Mercedes, but better than VW. There's more of a difference in Germany.
May as well ask why people still buy GM cars despite Fords being better in every respect.
>>
>>14769171
Also the TDI engines.

My uncle has an A6 and I wasn't impressed by its interior. At that price it doesn't have a fucking leather wrapped dashboard and more plastics than some newer Buicks. You can't make this up

Why does anyone ever buy anything that isn't a civic?
>>
>>14769232
Some newer Buicks are actually Opels, ironically.
>>
>>14769216
>May as well ask why people still buy GM cars despite Fords being better in every respect.

But this isn't true tho. The real question is why are people still buying Chrysler cars
>>
They are a mid tier German brand in direct competition with MB and BMW

A3/A4-2,3,4 series- C class
A5/A6- 5 series, E class
A7/A8- 6/7 series, S/CL class
>>
>>14769241

So what? Opel interiors are better than Audi interiors. Even more embarrassing
>>
>>14769232
Almost nobody has a leather wrapped dashboard. That would be a silly thing to do. They don't use anymore plastic than Mercedes or BMW.
I like real wood and real leather interiors which an Audi will have if you get the right options. This is an old argument from people who no experience with either, otherwise they would never bring it up because it make them look stupid.
>>
>>14769238

>>14769156
As a painter in the auto field at a garage that specializes in mostly high end cars, I can honestly say the cars I see hold up over the years better than the rest is Audi/VW. They are very well build and hold up against the elements like a champ. I see alot of Benz and Cadillac just rusted to shit with only half the age of the rust free audis I work on. Plus they are sexy to boot
>>
>>14769258
+1 just look at how nasty some of the 80's BMW's that had full leather wrapped interiors are now... (L6 comes to mind) Sure they look great for a couple of years. But after some time in the sun major damage, warping and tearing. They dont age well
>>
>>14769156
With one more point Audi/VW is one of, if not, the biggest manufacturer in the world after all of the bail outs. VW bought up alot of other manufacturers just to get a slice of the pie.
>>
>>14769272
What bailouts? In the US?
lol

That would be a luxurious thing to do

>>14769269

As if plastics from the 80s looked any better now. Pls
>>
>>14769305
It would a stupid thing to do considering UV rays. Mink would be luxurious thing too. And also stupid.
>>
>>14769314

People who buy these cars aren't poor and don't park their cars outside. A leather wrapped dashboard makes sense
>>
>>14769156
>their interiors are nothing special
The interiors are very good

>most of their cars look safe (I'd say boring
Yes they look "boring". The design is understated but elegant. BMW and MB are much more in your face.

>They make lots of FWD cars
Normies dont care about FWD driving characteristics.

>Is their Quattro system THAT good?
Quattro is not a system but a trademark.

The RS versions of the more expensive vehicles have some of the best awd systems but cars like the A3 sell shitty haldex under the quattro name.

>people who want German luxury
Here (germany) Audi isnt really seen as "luxery". Its the white collar version of VW.
A1, A3 and A4 are normal cars and you see shitloads of them on the streets.
>>
>>14769341
Everyone has to park their cars outside numbnuts. Why would you keep a car in garage and never drive it?
>>
>>14769355

lelwut

Every single fucking engine is shared in the VW universe.

And the majority of them come from VW.

This is what Audi cucks believe. What a fucking bunch of retards.

Plus, Audi as a shit torsen 4x4 system for the consumer market. It's literally the lowest tier possible in 4x4 designs.

>>14769210

Parts made for VW's. Somehow, as by magic, they're inherently better because they're in an Audi.

> lel

>>14769216

Only problem is when Audis are simply rebadged VW's.

> better

lol

>>14769246

They're in direct competition to the idiots that want them to be in direct competition. In reality Audi is much more at a tier like Volvo rather that at the same level than bmw or mercedes. Comparing an Audi to a Mercedes is akin to insult.

>>14769264

That's why we see a lot of old Mercedes on the roads. Where are all the Auto Unions and Audis from the old times?

>Parts made for VW's. Somehow, as by magic, they're inherently better because they're in an Audi.
Those parts are from different suppliers. You can read it on the part itself. VW gets the same part, made in China, Turkey, etc. And not even all the VW parts, that are the same parts, are made by the same supplier. It seems to depend on your geographical location.

>>
>>14770482

Laugh at this idiots stupidity.

>>14770503

Sorry but you're wrong. Parts are made exactly in the same factories. Thats a recurring argument Audi idiots use to justify having paid more for the exact same fucking thing.

I can even tell you more, since some parts are interchangeable, if you go to your nearest Skoda or Seat dealer and buy it there, you'll get it cheaper, while being exactly the same fucking thing.
>>
>>14770476
Epic
>>
>>14770602
>Parts are made exactly in the same factories
They are fucking not dumbass. I can get the same part for a VW made in up to 5 different countries from 5 different factories. The parts even have the origin printed on them.
>>
>>14770602
are you that dude who was bullied in high school by a guy who drove an audi and is now spending your entire life projecting him and all the traumatic experiences he caused you to experience onto everyone who drives an audi?

seriously man, there are lots of things you can do with your time. lots of awesome, cool, fun, productive things that can make you happy. why are you spending so much of it doing this?
>>
>>14770602
But audis aren't even expensive. What are you on about?
>>
>>14770563
this was probably funnier in your head
>>
>>14770602
>Parts are made exactly in the same factories
do you really think one of the biggest companies on the planet does this?
>>
>>14770630

And the same factory makes the same part for Skoda, Seat, VW and Audi. They're the same parts.
>>
>>14770729
MADE IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS BY DIFFERENT SUPLIERS
And they are not all equal.
>>
>>14770751

For fucks sake, go look in the archives and search for the thread where that fucking guy that managed some major hub in poland or whatever chimed in saying exactly that the parts are the same fucking thing only wrapped in a different plastic to be sent to the different dealers at a different markup.

Excluding the ones that are cosmetically or functionally different, the rest are the fucking same parts.

>>
>>14770763
Now your just shitposting. Just because the part fits in all of them doesn't mean they are made by the same supplier from the same factory. VAG is a global company.

>>14770798

Jesus you're daft. I'm not the same guy you're discussing with but hes right. The parts are the same. Doesn't matter if part x is made in Germany while Y is made in Hungary. They're got the same format, they fit the same place and are for the same use that is defined as being the same part.
>>
>>14770806

And nothing against it.

Sad are the retards that think they gotten into something premium while they only got jewed out buying upmarketed rebranded VW's.
