While there are some fucking STUPID bodykits, there are a number of high performance ones specifically designed to give better performance. And purists sperg out like the autists they are, when they don't even fucking own the car.
The perfect example would be smokey nagata's final evolution bodykit for the supra.
It's a full carbon fibre, 14 thousand dollar bodykit that was designed in a wind tunnel. It shaves off just over 200kg from the weight of the car and increases aerodynamics.

It's a god damn racing performance bodykit (and arguably still looks pretty fucking cool).

In most video games that allow customizing cars Ferraris tend to only let you change the wheels and most aero parts and doo-dads manufactured by third party companies for their cars will be asked not to be added into the games from Ferrari themselves.
