A little. The interior is the real issue, though, as well as the amount of glass.
Modern no-visibility shit is somewhat better for that, although I wish someone had told Ford before they put a massive nearly horizontal windscreen in my Focus. It's like the glacis plate on a tank, and heats the car up like a greenhouse.
UV-tinted too, so I can't even harvest the sunlight with my little solar panel.

The best countermeasure is either a sunshade propped up in the windscreen, or just draping a towel over the wheel and dashboard. I use a teatowel, because it doubles as padding for the cupholders and is also useful for drying shit.
And in a pinch, I can impersonate an arab by putting it on my head.

Did that once on my mother's old car. There was a mark on my skin for weeks, and a greasy mark on the car for a few days too.

Not really. Mine is black with ruined single stage paint, it's like that flat bbq grille paint, and it gets no hotter inside than any other car I've owned. The body panels get hot enough to burn you though, in direct sunlight I've measured temps as high as 170° with an IR thermometer
