And how well does that work if you're not driving on the highway or a major road.
I still have my doubts about autopilot.
Some roads can look really confusing to us humans, how do you expect cars to do it?
I'm sure it works fine in suburbia but what about roads in more historical cities you often find in Europe.
Google car can't even drive properly outside previously mapped roads.

I'm sure all Tesla cars collect shittons of data though.
But even if people can just download the newer updates, does he really want to future proof his car that much?
It wouldn't be the first time a company blunders by doing so.

>relatively small B and C pillars.

I think they're as big as usual nowadays. Seems like 3/4 of the pillars are hidden between glass and only a smaller part is in the color of the car
>>
>>14763976
That small increase in drag is going to barely make any difference in the range.
>>
>>14763970
It looks less functional so it looks worse.
>>
>>14763995
Having a giant wall that completely destroys the flow of the car (and the air klek) is far worse, and looks far less functional, makes the designers look like they can't understand aerodynamics AND design, and just copied the current modern trend of huge front grills and took them out just to be hipsters.

Functionality definitely wasn't what they were after.

I see a big oldschool style bumper.
>>

Looks better, and has better aerodynamics, the way it is now, it has a bunch of empty space that normally would be used for fake grill, and it's just as bad in terms of functionality.

Round bumper would be worse for aerodynamics. Therefore it would look less functional and therefore it wouldn't look better.
That bumper isn't flat. It a bit pointy pointed upwards and you can see where the air goes from there. For you logic the round bumper would be even flatter.
If you feel like a such an engineer, buy one and design your own bumper. Then test them both and you will be famous (in some way).

>better aerodynamics
It's useless to argue with you. What are you comparing? Both of these car's aerodynamics are made for their designs which are completely different.
>no huge fake grill space
Are you blind? Basically all the front of the bumper is grill opening because it has to be there. Not only the design styling is different but also the proportions. Tesla is higher than the Porsche. So what is your solution? Make it longer and more pointy? It's not a train. Oh yeah, you think that the bumper has to be round and there is no point to think about that it wont work with the lower part so well.

i don't think its AP standard but rather than AP ready. I remember reading somewhere (this morning) that implied the new tesla doesn't come with AP standard but has all the necessary equipment. Im guessing it has all the sensors and wiring installed and the actual AP computer/module/box/thing is an accessory.

>green lighting - the best lighting
There is a good reason why it's the most common plane dash lighting color.
>>
>>14763635
>>14763654
Red is the best color for preserving night vision. pilots use flashlights with red filters (or just red leds) at night when they do their preflight checks on the ground. The military used issues flash lights with red filters for night vision preservation. Not so much any more since nvgs are common place.

White and green light is the worst. Getting flashed with a white or green light leaves you seeing a spot for way longer than a red light.
>>
>>14765483
because the eye is most sensitive to green. Night vision goggles are green because of this.

there's two sides of the coin for this issue. On one side you want your dash to be visible so you can see your indications clearly; so green being the color that the eye is most sensitive to works great. On the other side you don't want the dash to be so visible and vibrant that they distract or dazzle the driver every time they glance. So after the momentary glance at the speedo you don't want to still see the numbers burned into your vision when you look back ahead. Red light doesn't cause the pupil to constrict as quickly as green or white light thus reducing the time it takes for your pupil to return to is normal size for night vision. It also has less of a dazzling effect than compared to white and green light.

saab must have understood this since most of their later models had a setting that dimmed or turn off all of the dash lights except for the speedo.

but all cars have some sort of dimming feature so it doesn't really matter what color the lights are and it also comes down to personal pref. Most new fords let you pick the color of the dash light through the infotainment system. So you can find the color that you prefer. I would go green at it's brightest setting during the day and at night I would go red at med brightness.

I've always imagine that the red could be most unpleasant for eyes but now I realized that green is one of my favorite colors and I really like Saabs. So yeah, guess you have to find what's best for you.
