Yeah, that's more like it. Without an engine up front there's no need for a long hood. Crumple zones can be accomplished in the space, and the whole car can be made more aerodynamic with a larger cabin.

I'm in favor of electrics eventually - I religiously follow the IOM TT electric racers. But I'm not about to spend $50K on a toy just to be an early adopter. When they can charge in 10 minutes, or hot swap batteries are available, or an overnight charge gives 500 miles of range I will consider it when they are as cheap as a Golf.
